Game changer for seed growing. I do not have a green thumb but I planted some bird seed and had so much fun watching the sunflowers grow that I thought - I'm going to be a seed guy. Well, seeds aren't actually that easy to grow! Sunflower seeds and a few others might be relatively low maintenance and quick growing but most seeds require very specific care and the internet seems to give such varying instructions that I really can only go by trial and error. And the best trial I have had is with these seedling planter things. Not only does it come with every single thing you will need aside from the seeds and dirt but once you get a good strong seedling its super easy to pop out the cup and just stick it in a pot and suffer none of the normal issues that come with separating the seedlings and re potting them. Keeping the young and tender freshly spouted seedlings apart from each other is very helpful, otherwise the young stems tangle and rip each other out of the dirt. One of the reviews said that the tops don't snap shut so I purchased a big bag of rubber bands the same day I purchased these planters but when I got them all four of mine snap shut perfectly. No more worrying about the squirrel digging up my seedlings, no more worrying about over watering from rain or the rain floating the seeds right out of the dirt. No more worrying about the birds eating my seeds. They are also nice and compact so all four can fit under one grow light and they don't take up a huge amount of space. So these are a really great size for me and what I need. I can see that once they get large enough that I can't put the lids on anymore, they will be strong enough to handle wind and rain etc...

This product works flawlessly for my applications. I like that they are small, easier and more room for more starter cells. Very very very very easy to extract seedlings from these due to the silicone design. Simply push up on the cell and the seedling in its soil cube pop right out in one piece ready for the ground. I would not change a thing with this product. I’d buy more of them but they seem to be so well built I foresee getting many garden seasons with the ones I have and will not need replacements any time soon. Highly recommended!

The seed starter trays are great. I like that they have a dome on them to make a mini greenhouse, other trays do not have a dome. The cells in the trays are very small, so I will have to transplant my seedlings to larger containers to let them grow and develop a larger root system before planting outside.

While this kit would not be sufficient for starting hundreds of plants, it is perfect for getting several dozen going. The cups are easy to fill (I used coconut coir) and the clear plastic lid fits tightly over the assembly, holding moisture quite well. The plastic lids are TALL, leaving lots of space for growth of new plants before having to harden them off. Just having bright window light (my light was even 100% indirect), along with the moisture hood, the seeds germinated perfectly. No elaborate grow lights or heating pads required. I also like the adjustable vents: keep them closed during germination; let some air in after, even while maintaining the "greenhouse" effect. I appreciate the flexible silicone bottoms of the cups, although I have yet to see if it truly makes getting your seedlings out of the cells easier. It certainly seems as if it should work. I also like the bottom trays, providing a "self-watering" function as the seedlings grow. Every part seems well made, flexible (not too brittle, which can be a problem with some sets), and should be capable of lasting many seasons. The final touches of including plant markers and a few tools to help you remove your seedlings when the times comes... really makes this a delightfully thorough kit. I am very well pleased with it and recommend it for anyone who has some plants he/she would like to get started before winter officially loosens its grip. ~ Laura C.

Well the reason I purchased these is because I wanted to propagate some leaves from my African Violets (the one on the right in my pic) but as you can see, I used the other box to save some leaves from other various plants of mine. And the results have been positive! I did do a few different things to make it work out for the one on the right. I ended up using mini solo cups to plant the leaves into (I also used a soldering iron to make holes in the bottom of the cups. I purchased it here on Amazon by Workpro, the pink one). Then I had to place a small piece of card stock underneath so the cups would sit more stable. African Violets need a lot of humidity, so the vent on top has been completely shut and I can already see Itty bitty signs of growth in one of the cups 😊😊 The one on the left in the pic I used the white tray with the vent open halfway and I have noticed growth in those cuttings as well! The quality of these propagation boxes seems excellent. They are pretty small in general but this was exactly the size I needed since I really don't have room for those larger boxes (which I'm sure work just fine). I have over 100 house plants so maybe I'll find a way to make room for a larger box? Lol They do seem pretty thick and definitely functionable. You can definitely customize these to your needs. Love these little trays! And the seedlings come out super easy!

These worked well to start my seeds in. They were easy to use and release the plants once they needed to be transplanted. They are easy to fill with water in the bottom. You do need to make sure the soil is completely wet when transplanting or it is hard to remove and the soil starts to fall apart. They are a good size and value for the money. They are a bit more money then I wanted to spend, but worked well to grow my seeds. These work well for plants that don't like there roots disturbed. It is easier to remove the plant and not disturbe the roots much.

Good product. Little tools are nice. But the lids do NOT fit.
