I am a full-time professional photographer & videographer. So I of course have a collection of tripod's. I bought this for an out of state wedding I had to shoot solo and needed to be light. After hours of research and not wanting to spend peak design prices I ordered this. First impression was good, but I did put a ball head on it. I like the head it came with and I'm still using it on a tabletop tripod. It is so easy to open and close! Once you get the motion right you can open and close it every time. It's very light. It was a lot more stable than I expected and it's very versatile. I had no issues using my EOS R5 and 24-70. I really have no complaints and see myself using it more frequently than my carbon fiber monfrotto 190. I encourage you to do your own research, don't just trust reviews.

It is very light after I change the video head to a small 25mm ball head, totaling up to 850g. The ball head is way better for photography, the video head is now sitting in my drawer. The included video head though nice from the outside is a bit of a let down as the locking mechanism is not the clutch system but a sharp pin screw that bites into the rotating tilt mechanism to hold it in place. Over time there will be many holes on the aluminium piece. The twist mechanism for the legs are easy to use and I can also lock individual section by twisting them separately. Just make sure to twist it tight to avoid any disaster. The tripod is so light there is no excuse not bring it out. The only minor issue I have is the include case even though nicely made does not fit the tripod when it is in the proper flip up position. You have to flip it into the storage position which is shorter in order to fit into the case. So if you flip the legs out to the action ready position you have to hand carry the tripod or find another bag that is longer to fit it. The bag is only useful for general transport purpose but not useful for actual field use.

This tripod comes with two, actually 3, different head choices. My review is for the traveler X tripod with AT-10 fluid video head. The first thing I noticed is the arm has to be unscrewed and rotated to position. Unlike the heads I had with the arm, the arm does not used to loosen or tighten the motion. Also, in position, the arm prevents the legs from folding completely as it was received. But it does fold enough to barely for the carry case. The next thing I realized is there is no way to flip the camera to the portrait orientation. When the information mentions vertical, it means the ability to aim upwards. If you want this tripod with the ability to aim the camera in portrait orientation, get the Traveler X-III. It has a ball head and you can orient the camera in any position. I happen to have a small ball head for my monopod which works on this tripod. The one I have made this tripod assembly even more lighter. I have not decided which head I will be using on this. I rarely take portrait photos with a tripod when traveling. I will carry the small ball head just in case. I personally do no like the ball heads. As for the tripod, I really like the light weight and small package. The twist lock seem easy to use if you are extending the tripod completely since it takes four audible clicks when turning the foot to unlock all 4 sections. If you want to set the tripod less than full extension, it is not as easy since you don’t know which section gets unlocked with less than 4 clicks. When I tried 2 clicks, one legs unlocked different section and results in the tripod being unlevel. You have to always unlock all sections. I really do not know how durable this tripod locking mechanism would be in the long term. To make it last, I will only use this when traveling since I have other heavier and durable tripods. I believe to make a perfect tripod, it would definitely be much more heavier and expensive than this. Life is full of compromises. If your main priority is light and compact tripod for traveling, choose this model with the head you prefer.

Excellent tripod! Its saved me on so many occasions, the flexibility of the design allows you to shoot from pretty much any angle. Its a quick and easy set up as well! The only thing that needs work is the middle layers of extension, There is not a quick way to ensure your tripod legs are at the same length unless completely collapsed or completely extended. If they had a way to that feature a little bit more intuitive that would do wonders but i have worked around it for what value this offers with such an affordable price tag.

For me the best thing about this tripod is it's lightness and small size. I purchased the option with the video head. The only adjustment easily done is panning. With my Canon R6 II with RF 70-200 (3.6lbs) the vertical adjustment is either tight or lose. You do not have the ability to lightly snug it down for smooth vertical movement. If you shoot video and need vertical movement you'll need to have the lock completely lose and control it without resistance from the head. Also I consider this as close to not being a fluid head as you can get and still call it a fluid head.

Everything is just great about this tripod from sirui. The weight. is really lightweight but I've made it lighter at 750gm by removing the video head and putting the small , smallrig ballhead on and having the short centre column instead of the long one . This has made it really lightweight for hiking and travelling , by doing this slight mod to it does not affect its performance in fact the performance of this tripod is really quite sturdy as long as you anchor it down correctly. The way the legs come out as one , no more faffage with clips ect , as long as you operate this tripod correctly ,it's a great bit of kit.. EDIT... After 20 months of use the legs fell apart . The insides are kept together with cheap plastic . Not what I would of expected from siuri. Really poor quality . Now looking at other brands like the vanguard VEO 3GO 235cb . It's a shame , I've used sirui equipment for years..

Zunächst zu den Fakten: Mit 38,5 cm Packmaß (Durchmesser: ca. 9,5 cm) und einer Höhe von 132 cm ohne und 152 cm mit ausgefahrener Mittelsäule entspricht dieses Sirui-Stativ weitgehend den Maßen des hochgelobten Peak Design Travel Tripod - das allerdings einen mit 7,9 cm etwas kleineren Durchmesser aufweist. Das Gewicht des Sirui liegt sogar deutlich darunter: Ich habe 1,1 kg gemessen mit dem von mir genutzten Neewer-Videoneiger (dazu unten mehr). Somit ist es sogar knapp 200 g leichter als das Peak Design. Der Beine sind dank des imnnovativen Mechanismus wirklich schnell aus- und vor allem wieder einzuklappen. Hier hat auch das Peak Design deutlich das Nachsehen, da dort der Verschluss jedes einzelnen Beinsegments vor dem Einfahren geöffnet werden muss. Ein deutlicher Nachteil des Sirui-Mechanismus ist allerdings, dass sich zum Nivellieren des Stativs bei unebenem Untergrund einzelne Beinsegmente mit montierter Kamera nur schlecht kürzen lassen: Hier muss man das jeweilige Stativbein einseitig anheben, das darüberliegende Segment festhalten und die Arrettierung des unteren Segments lösen, was fummelig ist und sich bei montierter Kamera auch gefährlich anfühlt. Insgesamt ist die Stabilität OK für ein so leichtes Carbonstativ. Mehr als eine spiegellose Systemkamera mit nicht allzu schwerem Zoom sollte man dem Sirui aber nicht zumuten. Maximal vielleicht 2 bis 2,5 kg. Die in der Werbung genannten 5 bzw. 10 kg Traglast sind für die Praxis völlig überzogen. Das gilt aber genauso für alle anderen mir bekannten Reisestative. Dank eines Hakens unterhalb der Mittelsäule zum Einhängen der Kameratasche kann die Stabilität gegen Wind/Erschütterungen erhöht werden. Der mitgelieferte Videoneiger-Stativkopf ist nicht überzeugend, da z. B. die Neigungsveränderung des Neigegriffs nur mit Imbus-Schlüssel machbar ist und der Widerstand beim Schwenken mit der Feststellschraube nicht zu dosieren ist. Ich habe ihn gegen den Neewer GM25 ausgetauscht, der beim Schwenken zwar ähnliche Probleme hat, aber mit einer Rändelschraube am Neigegriff schneller betriebsbereit ist und - sehr wichtig für Social-Media Videoproduktionen - eine 360 Grad drehbare Basis hat, so dass auch der schnelle Wechsel zum Filmen im Portrait/Hochkant-Format möglich ist. Ein echter Videoneiger ist der Neewer natürlich auch nicht. Bestenfalls lassen sich damit im Weitwinkel ruckelfreie Schwenks realisieren. Für Spektive oder Tele-Aufnahmen sind solche kleine Stative und Köpfe selbstverständlich vollkommen unterdimensioniert. Qualitativ ist das Sirui-Stativ vor allem angesichts des sehr günstigen Preises top und auch die Ausstattung überzeugt: Libelle (Wasserwaage) zum Ausrichten ist vorhanden, bodennahe Aufnahmen, auch mit umgedrehter Mittelsäule sind möglich. Und sogar drei Viertelzoll-Gewinde sind vorhanden - zum Beispiel für die Montage von Zubehör wie Mikrofon oder Vorschau-Monitor mittels Gelenkarm.

Super lightweight because of it's carbon material, I feel like I'm just carrying a kendo stick. When it's fully folded it's very short that you can even fit in a small bag or side of your bag, it's good for travelling

Este trípode de carbono de SIRUI es una auténtica maravilla para quienes buscan calidad sin cargar peso. Lo uso en mis viajes y apenas se nota en la mochila, pero cuando toca trabajar, aguanta perfectamente el peso de mi cámara con su objetivo sin inmutarse. Es muy estable, fácil de montar y desmontar, y se nota que está construido con materiales de primera. Una inversión segura si buscas algo duradero, funcional y pensado para moverse contigo a todas partes.
