Thrown out into the snow on Christmas day, the smelly sprout comes up against a terribly rude Christmas tree, an awfully impolite snowman and, worst of all...a greedy fox. But will a chance encounter with someone as small as the sprout change everything? "The Smelly Sprout" is a Christmas classic. With deliciously witty illustrations and a story to touch the heart, this is a tale children and their parents will love. And one thing's for sure, love them or loathe them, you'll never look at a sprout in the same way again! Review: Super christmas read for KS1 and lower KS2 - I have just recently read his book to my Y2 class and they loved it.It is a laugh out loud book with repeating phrases that the children can join in with on their own. I am lucky enough to have a visualiser in my class and was able to show the book on the interactive whiteboard as it is very small. A super alternative to the traditional christmas stories and one that will be brought out year after year. Review: we bought him 4 other Christmas books and this is his favourite book. He sits and looks at the book almost every day. we bought him 4 other Christmas books and this is his favourite book. He like books that are a little on the cheeky side and it encourages him to want to read more. I will be buying more books from this author. My other children like this book they are age 8 and 11 but think its more for the age 5-8 age range.

Very funny and had us in stitches throughout the story
Brilliant story! My 6 year old son thinks this is hilarious especially since he (and his mummy) hate brussels. Its well written and continually made us giggle. Very cute ending too. Well done Allan Plenderleith!

my 3 year old loves this book, good read ๐
Good little book my 3 year old loves it. Bit smaller than I expected and for what I paid (hence the 4 stars), but it has become my sons new favourite book so worth it. If your kids like this little book, perhaps read Hujo from the same author, my 3 year old loves these ๐

Apologies for previous bad review!
The original book I received was a bit grubby so I wrote a negative review, planning to put up with the copy received. However, when I realised a couple of pages were stuck together, I contacted the seller to complain. Within a couple of days I had received a very good quality replacement, without the hassle of returning the original. Both the original & replacement were received PRIOR to the original estimated delivery date - very good service!

Sprouts like to be eaten!
So many children seem to hate sprouts so I thought this would be a good one for standby. The story of a sprout who everyone hates the taste of. In the story the sprout survives his various ordeals and happily becomes a meal. However, this is for an older toddler plus, with greater vocabulary to understand the story.

This is the silliest story I have ever read. ...
This is the silliest story I have ever read. As a former children's librarian I have a collection of books that should never have been published. This is a new addition to it.
