Best Spice Mills Ever
12/8/2013: I've bought a lot of different branded mills in the past, cheap and small plastic ones and expensive, big wooden ones from debenhams etc .. but in the end the salt one usually always gets clogged up too easy from steam off the dinner or boiling pan and the pepper one breaks due to inferior grinding parts ( even on the expensive big ones ), also you have a harder job finding a replacement to match the other when one breaks. The T&G CrushGrind has got to be the best thing since sliced bread, it has a lip around the top to stop the excess spice spilling all over the table or worktop when you put it back down (less mess.. yay!!), you can adjust how fine or course you want the grinder to operate at with a simple pull and twist of the little wheel on top , then grinding is as simple as twisting your wrists. i keep mine on the worktop near the sink and sometimes the water would splash up the back and flow along the counter to where the old style mills are standing and soak the openings at the bottom making it impossible to grind the spice out, but not with these as they have the opening at the top and a solid glass jar on the bottom. the salt one doesnt clog up anywhere near as bad as my old ones used to, but the salt does tend to stick around the inside of the lip .. this does not hinder the usage in anyway though so its a minor complaint. you dont need to buy individual ones for salt or pepper as they all have the same grind mechanism made of ceramic parts, so you could just put both your salt and pepper into one of these and save time :) , this also means if you ever broke one ( from dropping it etc ) then you can easily get another one to match it. dont be fooled by sellers headings when they say its just a salt mill or just a pepper mill, they are identical and can all grind even fenugreek which is one of the hardest spices so find yourself a bargain price and order how many you need despite the descriptive titles. i saw these in an italian restaurant so they must live up to a lot of wear and tear and ive had mine for several months now with no problems atall .. best multi purpose spice mills on the planet :) 7/1/2020: just thought i'd update this and add that mine are still as good as they day i bought them, i use them multiple times a day, every single day and its not just me using them as the wife and kids do too. I honestly can't see me ever having to buy another one at this rate. They will probably last longer than me lol

Does what it says. Excellent.
This is excellent. Can alter how fine or otherwise you want the result. Highly recommend. I’m currently using it for white peppercorns but am going to purchase another one for spices.

works, but not as well as my Danish ones.
Cheaper than my Danish ones I got a few years ago. Works well, ground my flax seed easily. The down side is the grinds tend to clog up in the grinder unlike the higher quality one that seems to stay cleaner while grinding. Okay and useful. If you don't know the better quality ones, you would not know the difference. It works and you can change the size of the grind. Easy to open and clean the jar part.

Finest Pepper Grinder you cbuy (and I've had a few! :)
Without a doubt the best Pepper corn crusher/grinder i have ever owned.Bar none. I have taken the advice of other reviewers and not washed the grinding mechanism(i have of course blown it clear and dusted it down) which could damage the ceramic inside. The glass bottle, on the other hand, is washable (and dishwasher safe). I am also careful to not hold this over steaming pans of cooking food for too long and always try to add the pepper 'from the side' as it were; trying to avoid getting the mechanism damp. The ability to set the size of the grind is FANTASTIC and sets this apart from other crushers. I usually have it set in the middle and the size of the crush is perfect for me. The dial at the 'business' end is easily adjusted: clockwise for a smaller grind, counter-clockwise for larger bits. I must say i go through a heck of a lot of pepper ( a bottle a month EASILY) and i'm sure i likely overdo it (although no guests have ever complained this far). The amount of pepper this grinder releases per grind is sensational and make sit a pleasure to use (hence my apparent overuse! :)

brilliant for grinding seeds (not leaf-herbs) & so cheap, & lifetime guaranteed too!
This is exactly what we wanted & it works brilliantly - & the lifetime guarantee is a most welcome bonus! When in use, it's the other way up to the picture, because the seeds/spices are put in the screw-off jar, then it's screwed back together, then it's held the other way up to do the grinding (jar on top, black end down), either over the food/ingredients or it could be on a board or plate, at an angle (because the black oval edge is at an angle not flat). The jar's opening is thoughtfully wide (3.3cm or 1 5/16"), making it easy to fill with a teaspoon (but, if in a hurry or have unsteady hands, a funnel could obviously be used). The coarseness is easy to adjust - for a finer grind, turn the grey cog (just visible in the picture, within the black oval edge) clockwise, which brings the 2 ceramic grinding parts closer together - when doing this, there's a ratchety sound. It's also possible to clean it completely (unlike most other designs), because the jar's opening is wide enough for a narrow-ish washing-up brush (or I find just shaking it with soapy water is enough) & the little grey cog can be completely unscrewed anticlockwise (fairly stiffly - wouldn't happen by accident!), which is the first stage of dismantling it & then all the grinding parts can be easily removed & scrubbed clean (so that no bits are left on to go rancid & taint the next batch!) - but WARNING: be careful to put the smaller pieces down in a safe place for cleaning (eg. in a small bowl), so as not to lose or damage the spring! To keep any beetles or flies out of it when it's not in use, standing as in the picture, I fix a piece of polythene over the black part with a rubber band - or it could be covered with cling-film.

Complete Time-wasting Rubbish!
Complete rubbish! Takes hundreds of turns just to grind two TBS of flaxseed. Will totally wreck your wrists! Takes forever! Who has that much time to waste in the morning, adding ground flaxseed to their oats? Not I.

Ideal for seeds but takes ages to grind a large amount by hand
Works well on seeds - even small ones like chia. Easy to adjust the grind so you can have bigger pieces of seed or smaller ones. Very narrow filling point - you can't fit a teaspoon in so not so easy to fill with seeds. Although very easy to turn - practically effortless - it takes a long time to grind a whole tablespoon of seeds. I think I should have bought an electric one! Not possible to wash the grinding bit, so you couldn't use it for seeds and then herbs as it would all get mixed up. You may be able to get most of the bits out of the grinding area with a tiny stiff brush, if you had one.

Quality grinder - I have a few!
I've got 4 of these crush-grind mills now - for salt, pepper, cardamom seeds and cumin seeds. Some with plastic tops, and some with stainless steel tops. The grinders work really well and I like that you can adjust them for courseness, and of course no mess as the grinder sits at the top of the mill. The materials used mean the salt/spices don't clog up / cling to the surface round the top either, which is a problem I had with another well-known brand of grinder. Not the cheapest, but defintely worth the money in my opinion!

I LOVE THIS spice mill and I am very pleased with ...
I LOVE THIS spice mill and I am very pleased with the vendor, Amaroni in England. They went out of their way to insure that I received this mill. I purchased this grinder in Denmark in 2003 and after 12 years it needed replacing...12 YEARS. In my mind there is no grinder quite like it. I am so excited to have my new one.

T&G CrushGrind Spice Mill
I have been looking for a pepper mill that gives a lot of pepper per grind and this one is the best I've ever had...and believe me I have paid outrageous prices for grinders that didn't put out half of what this grinder does per twist.
