What is the finger length of the small size of these gloves?

The middle finger is about 3" from the tip to the base connecting it with adjacent fingers. The index finger is about 2-3/4" and the little finger is about 2".  Hope this helps.

My worn out playtex gloves say size 7 and are a perfect fit, so is size 7 equal to a med or small in these gloves?

I can't answer your question but I may still be able to help. The box that contains these gloves has a measuring guide printed on one side of the box.  The purchaser is instructed to place one side of the right hand palm against the guide.  The width of your palm determines whether you need a small, medium, or large glove. According to the guide, a small measures slightly more than 2 and a quarter inches in width while a medium measures a little less than 2 and 7/8 inches in width. I use a medium which fits my palm with perfectly but my fingers are a little short so there is about a quarter inch between the tip of my fingers and the end of the glove. Nevertheless, the glove is appropriately snug and a pleasure to wear.

do they make your hands smell like rubber?

No, not that I have noticed. There are gloves where the smell of rubber is strong but, I can't say for certain that I have smelled rubber with these.

Are these gloves plain or lined?

Depends. Lined with what? The inside feels different from the outside, almost kind of felt-like, and is a different color (my gloves came pink, lining is white). They feel nice inside and it doesn't feel the same as the outside but it's nothing fancy, and is not fabric. So probably "no"?
