GROHE Sealing Washer Chrome 43808000

Saves buying a whole new outlet valve unit which is wasteful. The Grohe unit is easy to remove, fit new seals (ensure right way round as they seem to have the part no. embossed on one side) and replace.

We have a Duravit brand toilet of some description, but for the life of me I can't identify which model exactly (it's probably 20 years old by now, or more). Symptoms: The water tank mechanism would active every now and then to let in a little bit of water to top up the tank, and when done, it would make this sudden, harsh, explosive screeching sound. Fix: Remove the flush valve assembly from the water tank by gently twisting it anti-clockwise. It's held in place in its seat in the tank by two protruding plastic pins. Then you twist the bottom part with 6 sharp protruding pins anti-clockwise to remove it from the piston cylinder thingy, and that enables you to get to and replace the two washers. It took some googling, but eventually I found these washers which seemed to be the sizes I needed. Just take note of their orientation as shown on the diagram inside the packaging envelope, replace the washers, and install the flush valve assembly back into the tank, and boom! problem solved. Very nicely done, if I may say so myself.

I thought I would have to replace the entire cistern or at the very least the flush valve, but this kit facilitated a fix to the existing valve which was leaking slowly and causing the inlet valve to trigger every 10 or 15 minutes and refill the cistern. The only difficulty you are likely to encounter is in gaining access to the flush valve, which for me was in a concealed cistern setup, but extracting the valve was much simpler than I had expected and once it's out, replacing the two seals is easy. There was even a little diagram with the kit to show you which way up each seal goes. Satisfied customer.

These washers saved me a load of money fixing my Grohe Adagio concealed cistern. The symptoms cured were water constantly dribbling into bowl causing the cistern to top itself up every few minutes. Also the sound that became increasingly loud and prolonged, like a motorbike riding off into the distance. It isn't too hard to work out how to replace them if you are careful and logical. Early days but so far, so good. Price and delivery cant be faulted.

These are great when your outlet valve is leaking. Instead of having to buy the complete valve you can get these for a couple of quid and sort the leaking valve out in a couple of minutes. I wish i'd found these a long time ago

not happy with the brand, always leaking toilet

This was a direct replacement for an existing Grohe washer set. The part number is in raised numbers on the large ring, but you can check by measuring the original parts. The old ones looked okay, but close examination showed a tiny bubble, almost unnoticeable, on the larger one. The replacements solved the leaking cistern problem immediately. In error I paid for and was sent two sets, but the sellers were very understanding and efficient. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.
