Are they worth the cost? Yes, they can be. The light is very bright and I see dimmable. I bought the recessed light without the color-changing option as well as the 50watt equivalent bulb. Both are very nice and work great. I did have some trouble getting the recessed light to work properly with the app because it was being super stubborn. A few flicks of the physical wall switch, though, and it was back to doing what it does. I mean, even if it doesn’t work with the app, it’s still a nice bulb, but that defeats the purpose.I live with an elderly grandpa who constantly forgets to turn on and off the lights. This makes it easy for him! Well, when he’s not trying to scream at Alexa or have a full-on conversation with it, like it’s his girlfriend. Haha. I’ve also put switches on the wax warmer and Christmas tree so we don’t have any fires from forgetting to turn things off. This also saves him from walking around in the dark to fiddle with a light because his little echo dot is in his bedroom.Overall, these products are just fantastic. Yes, Kasa is a great tool to link your devices. The true winner here, though, is integration with Alexa/echo. Easy to set up with WiFi (just have to have the Kasa and Alexa Apps as well as wi-fi and the subsequent password to connect), and the quality is great. Hopefully the energy use will help save on costs. Win-win for our household. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Work well but service a bit jerky *by M***L on Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2018* I have several mini plugs, one LB200 recessed light bulb and one 3-way switch. In all fairness, products are easy to connect (also disconnect to change to a different network) and work very well. However, there are some issues that have not been 5-star worthy rating.My LB200 stopped working after 4-5 months of minimal usage. While the company did eventually send me a replacement bulb (don’t now if it was a brand new one or a refurbished one) it took some back and forth by email to get the replacing accomplished. The nominal warranty of two years was not applied to the new bulb but rather it reversed back to the original bulb.In addition tp-Link recorded the warranty expiration date incorrectly and I have had to contact them twice, 10-15 minutes of chat each time, to try to get the correct date applied. Out of these episodes, I have concluded that the chat operators have no authority to make corrections even on obvious deficiencies but rather everything gets forwarded to a higher up. Caveat emptor: make sure you register products and make sure you have proof of purchase available. It will serve you well.The 3-way switch came packaged as a two units purchase, hence a price tag of around $60+ USD. But in fact, it is not necessary to install both units. You will be able to control a 3-way light by simply installing ONE tp-Link 3-way switch as has been noted by many customers in the questions and answers section.The KASA app works extremely well. Once a device is installed, one should go to the specific device setting and allow “Remote Control” so the device can be controlled from anywhere in the world as long as you have internet, either wifi or cellular. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great smart-lights for the price *by C***N on Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2019* I bought these during the holidays 2018 when they were on sale. I replaced a series of 6 canned lights with these plus can liners I grabbed from Menards. Overall, I am extremely pleased with these lights thus far! In our basement the light switch for all basement lights was at the top of the stairs, making it frustrating if you wanted to turn off for a movie/games or back on. Additionally, we couldn't dim them at all in the one room you want to really be able to dim for movie and TV watching! These did just the trick paired with a google mini (or w/o via the app too!). They are quite bright in my opinion, so we keep typically around 5% when waching TV. Having a set of them together is also nice because you can adjust independently or set up in groups (front row and back row for example) and further customize depedning on needs.The reason I took of 1 star on these is because there were some minor frustrations when setting up. They weren't always found by the app. Since I was installing 6 at once I at one point followed the FAQ about resetting a light if it couldn't be paired with the app. However, since it was my 3rd light in the set it also reset the first two I had done, so I had to then re-pair all of them. Again, nothing major overall and many times if it wasn't automatically found they were found immediately by pairing manually.
