These are made overseas like most everything now days. I was seriously hoping that these were Made in U.S.A like some Lisle products.

Is the tip fairly sharp or squared off?

The tips are squared off, not a chisel point. FYI, the smaller one is very useful for small automotive electrical connections.

The obvious question, how are these better than a small flathead screwdriver for most use cases?

These are mini pry bars with a magnet on the handle, they're great for disconnecting electrical automotive terminals and anything else you need a small pry bar for, won't work as a flat blade screwdriver. I hope this helps!!

When this 2pc set was first released a short time ago, I messaged Lisle through their website and asked them where this new 35170 pocket pry bar set is made. They said it's made in China so I spent my money elsewhere.
