**Q: Is it more or a yellow gold or a brass tone ?**
A: To me it's more of a brass tone. It's beautiful!

**Q: will this item hold up for holding plants in a warm and humid solarium?**
A: I have purchased two of these shelves and I am quite satisfied.  They are well made, easy to assemble and very sturdy.  In answer to your question, I do not think they would do well in a warm, humid environment.  I would think the moisture from the air would rust the metal and possibly warp the veneer wood.  Otherwise, they are an excellent investment for an office, bedroom, living room, etc.
