Wonderful little item.
I was quite dubious about buying this, and once taken out of the box, my confidence did not soar. It really doesn't look like much. But it does work. True a young healthy person could probably peel a potato faster by hand , especially if they spend a lot of time cooking and are used to the task. But this is so simple to operate that even children can safely operate it with a bit of supervision, and it is a real God send for people with arthritis or disabilities affecting their hands. It couldn't be simpler. You place a potato on the the prongs at the bottom of the holder, move the arm up and press the button. The potato spins around and a thin peel is cut off, leaving a small bit top and bottom that must be cut with a knife. The whole process takes less than a minute. This may seem like a long time but even with two large potatoes per person, you could make enough for a family of 6 in perhaps 10 minutes. For anything more than that I would suggest a larger, but ultimately much more expensive model. This was easy to set up, takes up relatively little kitchen real estate, and is fast and easy to clean. It included spare blades which were a real bonus. I would not have purchased this item if it had not been a warehouse deal, but having had this, I wouldn't be without it and would certainly buy again if needed. It makes life that little bit easier and I am delighted that there is so little waste as well. Peeling by hand would almost certainly result in more useable food being cut away. I have only used this for potatoes and apples. It does very well with both but I honestly can't say for any other fruit or vegetable. Sadly it only has one thickness, cutting away just the smallest layer of peel. Thus it can not be used to make curly fries. More's the pity. Perhaps someday the company will make a model with interchangeable cutting tools, but as it stands it does exactly what it says on the box, and does it very well.

DO NOT BUY!
I suffer with weak hands and arms so peeling potatoes and apples is both difficult and painful. Consequently I thought that this electric peeler would save me time and reduce my pain. How wrong I was! Straight out of the box the item seemed flimsy. The arm you move up and down to secure the potato is clunky and doesn’t move smoothly. It can be a bit of an effort to get it to move at all then all of a sudden it goes with speed! The adapter was tricky to plug into the machine. The connection was definitely dodgy and required a bit of jiggling to get it to make contact. The plastic housing around the jack entry point was not secured properly either and moved around. Once I had the potato positioned on the machine and the plug in place however, this machine peeled it well. Granted it doesn’t do the top or bottom of the item but I can understand why that’s not possible and can manage that bit myself. “Great”, I thought, “this gadget will change my life!” However, it has not. At least not for the better. It stopped working part way through one normal sized potato and has never started again. I am now in the process of returning it for a refund and will continue the hunt for an effective electric peeler. Do NOT buy this item. It is not worth the money in the first place or the time and effort to return it.

Great for those with dexterity issues. Spuds peeled in seconds. Easy to use and clean.
Oye Oye, here be thee review. Thou wilst findeth most helpful and reliable when peeling thee humble British spud. Now onto the serious review. This be perfect for those that have dexterity issues although it is limited I found to spuds with a thin peel, as it did not cope at all with red potatoes nor swede. I haven't tried with apples as yet, will update review if and when. There are 7 blades included it is very easy to change blades even though the written instructions are a bit lacking in clarity; there are several YouTube videos out there that can help. Simple to keep clean and I do like the choice of using either batteries or mains means taking on holidays is an option. I remember using one of these about 20 years ago and that one still works so hopefully this model will have a good few years of work in it too, which would make it value for money and probably an heirloom. Good day to all this be the endeth of minst review.

Love it!
Does exactly what it says- peels potatoes (and other things). Very useful for people like me who have painful wrists and struggle too peel. Also faster and easier for people who otherwise could peel. It can even be used one handed. Can cope with most shapes and sizes. Sometimes misses some bits or struggles with awkward shapes but going over the area a second time usually gets it done. Sometimes a little bit of peel will get stuck in the blade and you need to pull it out for it to peel again. The top and bottom don't get done completely but you can either put them in the other way or just slice off the un-peeled parts. When you press the red button at the back the bottom spikes start to rotate and the bladed part starts to slowly fall down. When the bladed part reaches the bottom it presses the button and stops the rotating spikes. Occasionally it doesn't press well so you just have to lift the bladed part and press the button yourself. Easy to clean with a sponge or brush. The blade part is removable which helps and the spikes and body are easy to give a quick wipe or scrub. The whole thing apart from the blade is plastic. The arms and spikes are painted to look like metal but definitely aren't. It still works perfectly well though. Works on almost every fruit and veg we've tried so far including large potatoes, small potatoes, apples, pears and even some small beets. Grapes are just too small. I'm pretty sure anything bigger than a cherry tomato would be fine. Not great for things like oranges because the skin is thick enough to need multiple peels to get through it and the orange inside is too soft to hold together with the spikes so after the first go the spikes just make a hole and can't hold it anymore. We've had ours for almost two years now with somewhat regular use and haven't had any issues or even needed to change the blade. It comes with two spare blades that sit in a compartment under the base. Also comes with a pointed bit of plastic that sits under the base. You can use it for removing bits like sprouts from the potatoes. It does have a battery compartment but we've never tried it battery powered. It's a little bit noisy, but otherwise amazing. One of my favourite kitchen gadgets. Such a simple thing but it makes such a big difference to me. Maybe not necessary for a lot of people but for anybody who struggles with peeling or finds it just takes a bit too much time and effort I would absolutely suggest it! You could even use it to spiralise things.

Great Gadget
Peels veggies and fruits really well, so simple to use, saves my poor arthritic hands, brilliant gadget. The skin comes off in one piece, I put the skin in my air fryer and make crispy noodle-type snacks so nothing is wasted. I just love this peeler and wpould recommend it to anyone with arthritis or other hand problems.

Works fine
It is a nice gadget, but it's found its way to the cupboard of other pointless kitchen junk. It is a nightmare to clean and is very touch and go to how well it removes skin off potatoes. Also having to cut the top and bottom of the potato is also a bit of a hassle. For many potatoes I use this, though for just a few it's easier to use a potato peeler.

No use with cooking apples (Bramleys)
I tried it on an eating apple and potato, it worked OK. So far so good. Then I tried it on the first of 60 (!) Bramleys that needed peeling (the only reason why I bought this item). Didn't work at all, got stuck straight away. Had to peel them by hand. The problem with cooking Bramleys compared to eating apples is that they are (i) much bigger and knobblyer and (ii) the skin is thicker. So first, the blade couldn't get to grips with the size and shape, and second, even when it did manage to catch hold, (after some encouragement on my part), it instantly got clogged up with the a tiny bit of skin, and the mechanism stopped. So, whilst this item seems OK for eating apples, and potatoes, it’s no good at all for cooking apples (Bramleys).

Fantastic for mums painful hands!
Bought for my mum who spent a lifetime typing and now cannot grip very well at all. She absolutely loves it and it saves her the pain of trying to peel manually, my nephews think it’s great too! Works well and is easy to use

Lightweight and so easy to use
I’ve ordered apple peelers in the past; 4 of them to be precise. All 4 were completely useless after the first couple of apples. The construction of this peeler is solid. The blades are the best of any peeler I’ve purchased previously. I would love to give it more stars but, I’m limited to 5. I peeled potatoes with lightening speed. To say I’m pleased would be an understatement! If you’re considering purchasing this peeler (oh, and it does so many things besides potatoes), just do it!
