Avatar Aang travels to the spirit world to parley with an ancient power, bringing Fire Lord Zuko ever closer to discovering the truth about his mother's fate - and his own past. Yet Zuko's sister, Azula, is becoming increasingly dangerous, threatening to ruin everything that Zuko, Aang, Katara, and Sokka have struggled to achieve on their search! Written and drawn by the creative team behind the best-selling Avatar: The Promise, Gene Luen Yang and Gurihiru, in collaboration with Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, this is the ultimate continuation of Avatar and the perfect companion to Legend of Korra!

Very satisfying conclusion
I started watching the show at the start of the year and at the end I just fell in love with it and it became my number 1 most favourite show of all time. I was a bit baffled as to why they did not answer the question for the whereabouts of Zuko's mother but I didn't mind too much because I knew that the comic series would answer this question. I just wasn't sure if it would be a worthy answer.Well I am glad to say that this comic is not only one of the best in the series but one of the best reads I have had in a long time. I really do love this world and the fact that we can spend more time with these fantastic characters.I won't spoil anything but I will say that we get the ending we wanted and then some. This was a very well thought out story and it breaks my heart that Nickelodeon turned down the offer of making "The Search" series in to a animated movie with the same voice actors etc.I really hope that these comics get converted in to a few animated movies when The Legend of Korra is complete. In conclusion this is one of the best Avatar: TLA comics to date and I can recommend them to anyone who loved the show.I look really forward to reading "The Rift" when that comes out next year.5/5

Wow finally
The answer to every ATLA fan who has asked the question: What happened to Zuko's mother? Not only do we find out what happened to Ursa in this final installment, we are treated to lovely illustrations and a fascinating storyline, a good mix of humour and drama. Reading the whole trilogy is a must!

Mother of Faces...,and of sons and daughters.
Ah c'mon guys, who says they're completely happy with this final story in the series ?I read the reviews and must admit I expected more. Not more pages particularly but the ending seemed just a little flat and empty.Plus right,Azula disappeared ! What's that all about ?If I had the talent,I would've done it differently.I'm mighty pleased to read the book though, just so I can have an informed opinion. At least we get to see Sokka land a blow on Azula with his 'toy' weapon. The anger in Azula was good to see as was the greeting Zuko got from Kiyi.I'm not 100% sure what ending I wanted but maybe because the earlier storyswere so cotton pickin' good,I just expected a massively fulfilling ending. So I think what I'm saying is that I think there was a whole ton of good storyleft to tell and it seemed to be curtailed to fit within a three book series.I wish I could ask the creators what process they went through for this book.Hmm,why don't books have a Special Features at the end like DVDs...,with interviews...?Oh oh,and deleted scenes.Oh oh,and alternate endings...

Great
This is one of the latest books of the Avatar series. My daughter is a fan. Easy to see why. It's a quick-paced, well-constructed good old story about the daily (ordinary) struggle of (extraordinary) people. Battle between Good and Evil with changing success and both intermingling and mutating. A lot, growing-up people can relate to, about friendship, relationships, living with differences, changing attitudes, perseverance and self-control. Just like the real life. I am glad I can cut out a lot of explaining, particularly when they are more inclined to listen to others then their own parents. It has a feel-good factor too. So, I approve.

just like the show
In the final part of the story we get some nice revelations and things are tied up pretty well. This is a must for fans of Zuko but it also has some nice moments for the other regulars. The dialogue captures the characters perfectly and the art is almost like stills from the show. I can't really fault these books other than having to wait the best part of a year to get "3 episodes" of the show is a long wait. Possibly better to wait until all 3 parts are done before starting.

Fantastic finale to second graphic novel trilogy
Fantastic. A brilliant conclusion to the Search trilogy, it not only answers questions that have plagued fans of the series for years, the artwork and storyline never falters from the extremely high standards set by it's predecessors.

speedy and wonderful condition
I had to order it in Japan because they don't see this in normal book stores. The shipping came rather quickly and was packaged neatly. Great book, wish there was more. (Wish they just put volumes 1-3 into one big comic!)

Awesome! (Order Paperback)
No idea what happened, but I got my book today (November 1st) even though the release date isn't until tomorrow. Man, I love Amazon...I'm so glad that the Avatar folks made these comics. As much as I like Legend of Korra, I still miss The Last Airbender, it was the greatest western animation I've ever seen. All in all The Search has stayed very true to the Avatar name, and the ending will not disappoint. The artwork and writing for this series has been top notch, as I would expect from Avatar. I've enjoyed reading these, and I look forward to their next project.*SPOILERS AHEAD*Some people have complained about the ending, but I think it was perfect. We got to see a resolution between Ursa and Zuko, and that's what this story was really about. As for what happened with Azula... She's the bad guy. If she's going to be redeemed, then it's not going to happen over the course of just one adventure. I mean it took Zuko two and a half seasons, and he wasn't as bad as she is. We did get to see her humanity in this episode, crying when Ursa apologizes to her and (maybe) leaving the letter for Zuko. I have no doubt that we will see more of Azula in the future.UPDATE: Order the paperback version, the kindle apparently has the wrong book.
