Definitely worth trying out.
I'll try not to sound like an infomercial but I have to say that this is great product surpassing all my expectations. It really works as do the recipes. It's very simple to use and if I didn't have a kitchen, I could definitely see using it to prepare food for 1 in a hotel or dorm room. It is very easy to clean up as well. I'm eating the fettucine alfredo that I just made while I was writing this review and it's as good as any I've had in a restaurant. I replaced my rice cooker with this as well saving space. Only two small downsides: 1.) while it comes with a small recipe manual I could find any additional ones online (although I did find the PDF or the recipe manual if you want to check them out before you buy. 2.) It's a bit challenging to the inside pot out when your meal is ready since it's hot. I got around this by using a pair of pliers (very gently) or oven mitts. Not a big deal at all though.Note: It is only big enough for 3 cups (24 oz) of food so it's a good size for 1 person or maybe 2 people preparing a side dish for the main meal.+++ Well, done with the Alfredo. Think I'll go try the raspberry bread pudding for desert next. :-)

Perfect rice every time
Fantastic little rice cooker. Perfect for one or two people. Rice cooks within 20 minutes and can be kept warm until needed (the longer it is warmed the more chance of crispy rice layer developing on the bottom - so if you like that, you will be pleased)I have cooked sushi rice, brown basmati rice, quinoa and buckwheat in this cooker. All came out well and tasted great.Cooker comes with a recipe booklet that shows that it can be used for making stews or even baking, however, I have not tried to use it for this purposes as yet.It has a non-stick pan inside that comes out completely, the lid has silicone seals which also can be removed so washing up is easy. Unsure if dishwasher safe because I only wash by hand.

Great item for the price paid
I am always travelling for work and the Perfect Cooker always comes with me. Itโs small enough that it fits into my suitcase. When Iโm travelling, I use the cooker for pasta, soup and porridge. It prepares them all in no time at all. It can also be used to reheat food in the absence of a microwave.I use it at home too. It cooks rice quickly and to perfection and it does a great omelette too. The only downside is that when it clicks off, believing the food is ready, it canโt be turned back on immediately, so you need to allow it to cool for a few minutes before flicking the switch again.Cleaning the cooker is extremely easy. The non-stick bowl requires no effort at all and the lid and inner liner come apart with ease too!

Literally the perfect rice cooker (for two portions)
Was worried about it being too small, but it was more than enough to cook two average sized portions using 2 cups of rice, and can still accommodate one more cup if desired for larger portions. Rice did not stick as much to the bottom as other rice cookers I've used, and even if it did, was not overly charred beyond normal consumption as texture remained the same, just a slight tint of brown. Perfect hassle-free results for rice cooking, though i have not tried cooking other things. What i didnt expect was how good the scoop spoon provided was as it had a very convenient and practical design. Very easy to clean too, as the top plate on the cover was entirely detachable. No water leakages reported.

Good design but an extra cooking pot and a lid would be helpful
I bought a red one a while ago - for some reason the red ones are more expensive. I found that I needed to use it twice when doing a meal. Once for rice and one for curry. Then the same thing happened with a pack of pasta and sauce the pot was too small and the time taken cooking half and then the other half was coming close to the microwave or stove top time.I noticed the black and white cookers were still at the lower price and thought it through. A spare pot might cost ยฃ7 or ยฃ8 pounds and if I bought the whole thing I would have a spare or I could operate both. So that is what I did.I think if you can want to do a decent sized meal for one at home you might be better off with an inexpensive pressure cooker that might also be used for slow cooking too. But if you want a device simple to use that you can carry it with you and don't mind using it twice it is good.Another option is to get a second bowl and a lid for it. So you could make the curry in one and rice in the other. Opposite order if you had nowhere to wash the bowl before you did the rice. Rice first then put in a lidded container and the curry later. At least washing the curry pot could be done after you finished eating and not in the middle of cooking.

Cooks enough rice for 2, but it's SLOOOOW, and awkward
I mostly bought this because our last rice cooker broke; it was huge, and space saving is now important to us so we chose the smallest one we could find. I was happy to see it took 2 'cups' (or a small beaker's worth) of rice and twice that of water - perfect for two people IMO.What I didn't consider was that this thing is only 200w - my previous cooker was 500w, and many others are 700w. As a result, instead of cooking two cups of (white, easy-cook) rice in 10-15 minutes, it takes closer to 40. For many this might be acceptable but IMO it eliminates the convenience of having a rice cooker. There's also the not inconsiderable pain of having to take the bowl out of the thing once it's done. It's so small that scooping rice out is very difficult, and it's incredibly hot when done. As it's full of rice it's hard to lift up with one hand, so 2 oven mitts are basically required. The steam trapped under the lid liquefies and you get water all over the unit and back down the inside onto the heating element, which can't be a good thing. On the plus side, the reduced surface area of the inner cup relative to a larger rice cooker means less rice gets crisped and burned. Larger rice cookers give you a pancake of basically burned rice at the bottom that can't be eaten. It's less of an issue with such a small cup, so that's something.

This is a rice cooker
It makes bold claims about all kinds of meals that it can make. These are essentially 'hacks' that rice cooker veterans have been using for years. There is no 'smart technology' as this product claims. In fact the science behind rice cookers is extremely basic. That said. I didn't buy this product because I was looking for a magical all in one cooker for a jack and the beanstalk price. I wanted a compact rice cooker that only did a serving or two of rice, or could heat through a meal for one. This does the job perfectly and I'm surprised that they don't market as so.So all the fives from me. Great little gadget.
