Used this and it works, length can reach round my laptop and it's good quality

I have a Seagate USB 3 drive that just wouldn't work with any cable other than the one it was supplied with, which is about 240mm long. I needed a cable of around 1 metre as there was nowhere to site the drive within the area that the OEM cable would reach. All previous attempts to get the Seagate to work in USB hubs had failed, as had every other USB extension cable that I had purchased (at best, the drive would download a few gig of files, then disconnect itself). As I need as much storage space as I can get, I really needed this drive working properly. In hope & desperation I decided to try this cable. At around a tenner including postage, it was worth the gamble. The cable is very well made, with gold plated connectors. I installed it directly into a USB3 port on a PCI-USB3 4-port expansion card. Previous cables had failed when plugged into this port, but this one works perfectly. It has been seamlessly transferring huge amounts of data for almost a week now, & transfer rates are definitely USB 3 standard. If you're having connection problems with external USB 3 peripherals, this cable could well be a worthwhile investment.

Lost my cable for my external hard drive and at first was hesitant to buy a new one as one I borrowed kept a blue light on the hard drive. As this cable is gold connectors and in the Amazon spring sale for under £5.00 I thought why not. Cable arrived after 2 days but works a treat. Would buy another one if I ever need to.

These USB v3.0 data cables are perfect fit for the Seagate and Toshiba external hard disk drives. The original Seagate data cable got bent when the device fell hard from 34 inches from the table. The Seagate external hard disk drive survived the drop, but the data cable was damaged and yet there were no visible signs. When the original cable did not perform, have discovered the damage. Ordered replacement cables from a very well known company from the 1990s (Cable Matters) and this is their product. The data cables (two pack) arrived undamaged in great condition. When compared these data cables (blue color, easier to find in dim lit work areas) are two inches longer than the Seagate factory cables. These cables are thicker in diameter because they are better electrically insulated than the factory cable. The product performed without problems. Remember this is a USB v3.0 cable. The higher USB v3.0 (than USB v2.0) speed should have a shorter length than a standard USB v2.0 length cable. Just like SCSI cables, the higher the speed, the shorter the length must be. Users should measure their own brand of factory cables to determine whether its the correct length when these data cables arrive. Then compare both original factory cable with replacement cable. That difference can interfere with sustained data transfer speed. Which is why some buyers say a product did not perform for them. Users can always visit websites that have the USB v3.0 and USB v2.0 cable length specifications, try a duckduckgo.com search, or google search.

I have 6 ft of USB A 3.0 to Micro B 3.0, it gets the job done. It feels like any other cable, your standard plastic ends and plastic sheath. It's lasted. Not much to say, not much to complain. It just works, all I could ask for.
