Review: Wow, impressive. - First off, my music is very important to me, so I do not like to waste time or money on sound systems. I've been looking for a Bluetooth speaker for the beach and picnics. I researched and found that the Anker Soundcore speaker systems have received excellent reviews on line. So I decided to buy one. I am seriously impressed. The sound is very clear and can handle full volume with no issues. When I saw how small it was, I chuckled, thinking, "... hey, it was free (I used my desertcart points). If it's not great, I can use it on the patio." The setup was easy and once I had the speaker charged, it was time to test the sound. I paired it within seconds and played my first song. I was so pleasantly surprised. Rich Sound for the price and the size. I am so happy with this that I'm buying a second speaker after this review. I was thinking of getting a Bose, Klipsch or Marshall just to compare sounds, but why bother? This has all the sound I need. This is an amazing price for the sound. I like the price which is very reasonable. I like the sound and the functions. You can listen to it via Bluetooth or hook it up with a cable and listen to other electronic equipment through it. I bought the second one hoping I could pair it up with the first one I bought to get a good Stereo sound but so far I haven't been able to do that. No matter. The quality is so good and it plays so loud I don't have to turn the volume up too high. For the place where I live this is perfect. If anyone wants a really good Bluetooth Speaker for small places you can't go wrong with this one. I highly recommend it. You won't regret it. The price alone makes it a terrific bargain. They seem to have a good lifespan. The first one I bought is almost a year old and it plays like new.

**Q: How is this better than the previous version?**
A: I haven't noticed this being any louder then the previous. The bass is a little better and ports are covered. I think for $33.99 when on sale it's a good deal at only $4 more then the original but at $40 Not so much. The original is $29.99.

**Q: How many watts is this? Does higher watts equal louder volume?**
A: The new SoundCore 2 has double the watts (2 x 6w instead of 2 x 3w).   But...in order to double the volume you'd need to have 10 times the watts.  So you'd need a pair of 30W speakers to double the volume.

It was instantly clear to my wife (not an audiophile, nor am I) that the SoundCore 2 sounded better.   It's just not "night and day" better, nor is it "double the volume" better.   Is it $10 worth better?   Yes...not just for the better sound, but it's been refined to be a better over all experience which I talked about in my review.

**Q: Can you use a cord to plug in directly to phone**
A: Yes, using either a male to male 3.5 mm aux cable OR a usb-c to male 3.5 mm aux cable, whichever your phone supports.  Note that there may be a noticeable lag, meaning it won't be appropriate for watching videos or playing games.  That was my experience, perhaps not all speakers have this issue.  This was on the most recent firmware (4/19/19)

**Q: Does this have a good sound quality**
A: Great sound quality. I am very impressed with it's performance.

This small blue tooth speaker is handy to use outside or couch-side when you need something louder than your phone or ipad or laptop. The sound is quite good for its size. it's easy to connect for pairing and adjust the volume, It has 2 connections for charging, a charge will last about 16 hours. It is small enough to put in a pocket and carry with you. I recommend leaving it plugged and charging if used seldom. i left my mine unplugged during the winter and it lost it's charge and I had to replace it.
