Hape Battery Powered Engine Set | Colorful Wooden Train Set, Battery Operated Locomotive with Working Lamp

For the price we paid for it, I'm impressed! My 3 year old son is obsessed with trains and this is his first powered one. Needless to say, he's been playing with it for nearly 48 hours! It's pretty strong,handles complex tracks fairly well and the battery has lasted surprisingly well. Will update after we've had this a while to see how it holds up against the wear and tear of belonging to a 3yo boy! The attached freight cargo move when it's in motion, and the engine light made this a magical experience for my toddlers.

This train is one of the neater battery-powered ones I’ve seen! It’s my toddler’s favorite now. All the cars have some sort of movement (barrels spin, bounce up and down). My toddlers only complaint was that it doesn’t go faster.

Little boys love this toy. They say it’s fun. I feel it’s good quality, looks nice and good size for little hands. Needs a battery.

I am not sure what those 3 rate features above mean.......they must apply to something else! The stars should indicate that this train is sturdy, well constructed and works perfectly! I would give 5 stars to any features! Hape toy trains are the BEST!!! - This is the second one we have purchased These trains are sturdy, dependable and lots of fun!!! Quality toys!!! Our grandson loved his first train so now he can race the two of them! Hape trains run well on Brio train tracks!!

This blue engine is not as fast as the red one in the other set. But, our son doesn't seem to mind! The batteries last, and the boys play with trains all day. Invest in rechargeable batteries! All in all, it's a great deal.

My three year old was wanting a train that would move on its own. We gave this one a try and he loves it. My one, almost two, year old plays with it as well. It only took one or two times to show them how to turn it on/off. I would buy again without hesitation. ***But do play with supervision....my goofy girl (the younger) wanted to let it drive on her head and her fine hair did get caught in the wheels and had to be cut out. Not a fault of the toy. Just something to be careful of.

The up down motion of the second train and the strength of the battery operated train make this worth the extra cost.

This was the favorite toy our 3.5 year old received for Christmas. It's much stronger than other battery-operated engines, so the fact that it can pull 2+ cars is a HUGE plus. Highly recommend!

The Hape train is compatible with Brio train railway track. Its cheaper compared to Brio. Quality is good too. This train is faster compare to classic Brio trains.
