## Overview

The SilverStone RM51 is a 5U rackmount server chassis engineered for professional-grade builds, supporting large SSI-EEB motherboards and high-end GPUs up to 455mm. Featuring dual 180mm Air Penetrator fans and compatibility with 360mm liquid cooling radiators, it ensures superior thermal management. ## Description

In 2019, RM42-502 was released as SilverStone’s first 4U rackmount with 240mm liquid cooling radiator support, followed by the release of RM44 which featured enhanced radiator support of up to 360mm and greater hardware compatibility. Fast forward to 2023, the release of RM51 brings yet another new take in rackmount chassis design with radiator compatibility, while also moving to a larger size – 5U form factor. RM51 is designed for maximum compactness and space optimization, which supports motherboard of up to SSI-EEB, graphics card clearance of up to 455mm and power supply clearance of 190mm. With an added 1U height compared to previously released 4U chassis', allows for much greater cooling potential, which supports 2 x 180mm fans at the front (2 x Air Penetrator 184i PRO pre-installed) which is downward compatible with 3 x 120mm fans and up to 360mm liquid cooling radiator. Alike RM44, a graphics card retainer is included with reserved storage drive mounting holes which prevents sagging and moving of graphics cards while supporting up to 2 x 3.5" HDDs or 3 x 2.5" SSDs. A removable drive cage is included to support 2 x 3.5" HDDs - if unoccupied and left unused, opens up the option of a secondary SFX or SFX-L PSU to be installed. The internal chassis also includes 4 x 2.5" SSD trays, so the chassis supports up to 7 x 2.5" SSDs or 4 x 3.5" HDDs and 4 x 2.5" SSDs. Other notable features include reserved mounting holes for sliding rails, 1 x USB Type-C interface, 8 x expansion slot, and last but not least, case feet are also included which allows the users to opt for a vertical placement instead of the usual horizontal orientation. Overall, RM51 is a feature-packed and highly functional rackmount chassis with unparalled compactness and space utilization.

Review: Well designed PC case for entertainment center racks - Excellent PC case for an entertainment center rack. The front IO panel is easily accessible and the large power button is a nice touch. The length is not too deep either, even with the rear fan cage attached to the back, but it can still comfortably fit a 5070 RTX AND a liquid cooling radiator with all the included fans. Very thoughtful design. The only downside is the sliding rails accessory (RMS05-22) is made for deeper racks so I had to go custom on the supports as this case is very heavy.

Excellent PC case for an entertainment center rack. The front IO panel is easily accessible and the large power button is a nice touch. The length is not too deep either, even with the rear fan cage attached to the back, but it can still comfortably fit a 5070 RTX AND a liquid cooling radiator with all the included fans. Very thoughtful design. The only downside is the sliding rails accessory (RMS05-22) is made for deeper racks so I had to go custom on the supports as this case is very heavy.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exactly what I was looking for

Everything came together wonderfully. All screws and hardware were present and plentiful. Some of the bags did have labels in Chinese but it wasn't a hindrance to the build process at all. It's obvious which screws go where. Specs below since that was what I wanted to see in the reviews before getting this case, to make sure everything will fit: - Asus Z790 proart creator - Asus Ryujin III 360 AIO - Asus Nvidia RTX 4090 OC TUF - Corsair HX1500i - 2x Samsung 990 PRO - 2x SSDs, 2x HDDs - 2x 80mm, 1x 140mm Noctua fans for the case - 4x Corsair Dominator Titanium I ended up taking the handles off because they will prevent the case from being pushed all the way into the rack when the rails are put in, but its still easy to pull out/push in with the little two-finger slot in the middle. And I looked everywhere for the size for that rear fan but could only find one mention of 120mm. It does have the screw holes for 120mm but it is spaced for 140mm and has the holes for that as well so I had to order that after finishing the build. There isn't any hidden cavity to hide the wires but there is plenty of push-pull air going through all the components with all the fans mounted. The 4090 power cable has plenty of space for a graceful bend even with the HDD plate added on top. This mobo didn't have the header pins for LAN activity but I don't care about those, everything else worked out perfectly. With all 13 fans at full power on startup it is still very quiet, my switch is louder than that at idle. This is the rack mounted pc gaming / workstation solution that you're looking for. I don't think that any of the 4u options out there would have sufficed for the massive 4090 without an aftermarket fire-hazard 90-deg connector or a dangerous bend.
