I don't know how to describe it, and I don't know if it was the plug adaptor, the wattage of the toaster or not compatible with the wall sockets all together (though my plugs are not dangerous for anything else). Needless to say I had to safetly unplug it and throw it away. Perhaps there are US or EU reviews that have never experienced this. As it was a lovely looking toaster with a sensible design, perhaps it was an anomaly for fault. But I felt I should write a review all the same.
