We learned the hard way USE THE MEASURING CUP IT COMES WITH! The water level and amount of rice are different measurements than US standard. So if you want the nice texture of rice, use what it comes with and read the instructions, cuz it also says it there as well.

**Q: Water amount**
A: I am not sure of the capacity. It is quite a lot. I use it for brown rice and quinoa. The ratio is 1 1/4 cups more water than rice (2 cups rice, 3 1/4 cups water; 5 cups rice, 6 1/4 cups water, etc.) and it comes out perfect every time. I believe for white rice it is 1/2 cup more water than rice, the brown rice requires more water. I tried to make from instructions using the lines in the cooker but that wasn't accurate so I use this ratio and it is perfect. Hope this helps.

**Q: What is the measurement of the cup that comes with the cooker?**
A: The above answer is NOT correct: (3/4 Cup or 135ml). That is the last gradient you see embossed in the "cup" but the cups "full" purpose is to be exactly at level (completely full, not heaping) witch equates to exactly 180ml (1 gō). This is done on purpose as it applies to the Japanese cuisine standard of measurement being 1 gō in volume, which is the standard for one serving of rice or sake. In US measurement it equates to approximately 3/4 cup.

My husband and I just can't cook rice. We've tried and failed too much. Decided to try out this rice cooker and it did not disappoint! Its so easy to use and the quality, taste, and smell? Omg I want rice all day cuz of this! The lid seal is great and easily pops off for easy cleaning. Its so simple my kids could use it. We learned the hard way USE THE MEASURING CUP IT COMES WITH! I got the 10 cup uncooked version, and overall it’s a good rice cooker. It looks nice on the counter, the size is perfect for family meals, and it’s easy to clean. The non stick pot and the steam basket are super convenient. The rice comes out pretty good, fluffy and not sticky, and the “keep warm” feature works well without drying it out. The only thing is that it takes longer to cook than I expected. It still gets the job done, but I feel like I spend more time waiting compared to other rice cookers I’ve used. It’s a decent product and works as described, but I’m not sure I’d buy it again just because of how long it takes.
