My kids absolutely love this! Interactive! They love the sound effects. It was easy to download the app and get the book up and running. I like how it winds my kids down since I have to turn off the lights while we read. The stories are longer too. I feel like it’s worth the price.

Bought this set for my grand children. They loved it. Took a bit to figure out how it all worked. Got it going and was playing for hours.

I purchased this set for my grandkids for Christmas and they LOVED them. The parents and I LOVED them too! Bedtime has become something looked forward to, rather than dreaded. They cannot wait to snuggle up in their beds for a story in the dark. It’s such an easy system to use. I used to love playing with my Viewfinder as a child and I was searching for something similar, but sturdier for my grandkids. This system showed up in my feed when I plugged in Viewfinder. While it is a very different idea there are similarities. The story cassettes are purchased, the App downloaded to your Smartphone, the item slides onto your phone which uses your flashlight to project the image from the story book page onto the wall or ceiling, the App has sounds, music & the words to the story, but the storyteller (whoever is holding the phone) narrates the story, adding their own flair to the words, characters and so forth. There is a sound when it’s time to turn the page and a new picture is projected on the wall. This repeats until the story is completed. I enjoy being in my grandkid’s bedroom while my son, their Father, changes his voice to mimic the characters in the story. It’s quite entertaining! There are lots of different stories to purchase! We enjoy the multi-packs where several books are included in the set. I have purchased Disney sets and classics like; The Very Hungry Caterpillar and other popular children’s books. Each book set comes with the reading device that connects to your phone so if your children have their own room the parents could each be in charge of storytelling simultaneously. The sets are very well-made and durable and usually come in a cardboard case, but hard-shell cases that hold several books may be purchased separately and are great for travel.

My 3 year old was instantly engaged with the Toy Story book and the same goes for Monsters Inc. We read every night and it usually means I’m reading while he plays, occasionally looking up to see pictures. This product has him so invested that I could hardly hear him breathe. Setup was easy enough but if you have a newer iPhone with multiple lens, just know that you’ll need to slide the projector further left than the app suggests. That will clear up the image nicely. Two stars docked because the code to one of the four stories (Cars) didn’t work. I emailed support today and will give the stars back based on response expediency. Update: The email address failed but the book just randomly started working now so it’s all good. Added an extra star for the product, but left a star off for support communication challenges.

I gave the Moonlite projector and story reel as a Christmas gift to my 3yr grandson last year 2023. He still loves it! He loves it as a bedtime story, or anytime story treat! (Be sure to read exactly what comes with the purchase carefully. You will want to be sure that you get the projector part as well as a story reel to start out. You will also need to download the app in order to operate it.) I’ve purchased several different stories through the year that he and his older and younger siblings enjoy too. There’s a good variety of popular books/reels available for purchase. Many of them come in bundles but you can purchase them separately as well. My grandson still asks for it at least a few times a week. His Mom says it’s also a big hit when they travel. It’s projected on the room wall and keeps him and his siblings engaged in the story. It brings a bit of home to any travel adventure. The app was easy to install. The projector piece fit easily over the phone. The pictures and words are clear, bright and project well. Best if used in room that is dark or very dimly lit. It’s durable, and has stood up to consistent use including being handled by children. …..If your phone disappears the kids may have it reading a Moonlite story! I recommend it!

I stumbled upon this on a nostalgic Viewmaster search. I was hesitant about the music/phone integration. If there’s a screen people tend to focus on that. But I figured I’d check it out. My son likes Pixar stuff a lot so got this and Onward. Everything arrives, good so far. Go to install the app and that’s easy enough. Trouble started there. The app let me go though the setup fine, asks if you have a projector then whichever way I answer it suddenly this text file gets generated and tries to launch in a separate app (Indeed) as a resume. Pretty weird. iPhone 16 Pro, softwares up to date. Try a few more times. Uninstall/resintall, go through it again. Same result: once I get to the Moonlite main screen it launches another app, then Moonlite crashes. Over and over. I uninstalled Indeed so then it launches Text Editor instead (pictured is the blurb it thinks is so important). So I contacted them, and it got annoying. I briefly explained my issue: crashing, tried updated, reinstalling, restarted, over and over and could I get some help please. I get a prompt reply that initially read like someone had actually paid attention to my problem. ‘We’re sorry, (my name). We want to get right on this and fix it’ or something. Then the help: I should try updating my phone, restarting, same stuff I said I’d done. Ended telling me to reach out if that didn’t fix it. I did annnnnnnd…. been a week so far and still nothing but tumbleweeds in the ol’ inbox. So aside from some patronizing AI auto-reply time waster there’s apparently no actual product support. There’s another review on the App Store a few weeks before this having the exact same problem (i.e. launching Indeed, crashing) so I’m thinking you’re on your own if you buy this. With a tiny picture disc the width of a soda can and an app that I never managed to open a story on… I feel a gave this sufficient time but they’re not responding. I don’t drop 1-star ratings lightly but the app is absolutely crucial to any of the other stuff being at all useful and it’s glitchy and they’re not replying their either, besides the AI. It all sends you to the same place. Anyway, good luck. Maybe it works for iPhone 17 more

My personal favorite from this package is The Very Busy Spider. My daughter loves Brown Bear, and my son is a HUGE fan of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. This little story projector is great. I enjoy using it to change up our storytime a bit and my kids love pushing the sound effects buttons for me as I read. 100% would buy again. My only complaint is that each reel* can be a bit expensive. I DID just get a Pooh story (seeds of friendship) for $7.50, though, which is 1/2 off, and it's the best one yet because the story is actually decent in length for bedtime!
