After having our Ryobi RS290 palm sander for around 5 years it finally knocked off its sanding pad foam/velcro. Though we were going to have to buy a new one. Decided to take a look on here for a replacement. To my surprise I found these so I could bring life back to to the palm sander. The old one was like a fiber glass backing and this one is metal. It fit like a glove and it actually seemed to sander a lot smoothly witch is nice because the wife and I like to build live edge/epoxy furniture. Definitely a 10/10 would buy agin and definitely will recommend 👌. FYI Ryobi take note of how to make better parts for your tools from the factory!! We will gladly pay more for an inferior product.

These are good replacement pads but the screw holes are a bit tight so it takes a little bit to get the screws in through them straight.

This pad was the perfect replacement for my Ryobi orbital sander. My sandpaper stays on the sander without flying across the shop.

There are 4 “nubs” on the Ryobi RS240 which help align the backing to the sander. The description explicitly states backings are compatible with RS240 but the backings don’t have holes for the nubs. I was able to drill holes to get the backing to fit on the sander and then they worked fine. Rated a 3 since there’s nothing wrong with the product, just not compatible with RS240 as claimed.
