Compact easy to use camera that takes excellent photos!
I wanted something smaller and lighter than my old canon SLR, but with equal or better image quality. After unboxing the R50 I was surprised just how much smaller and lighter it was than my old SLR. But everything still fits my average size hands, and the control layout is logical and simple to use. The 18-45mm lens is fine for general photos such as scenery and close up shots of plants or pets, with smooth and fast autofocus and great image quality. But for wildlife and sports I plan on buying the RFS 55-210mm lens. This whole set up will fit in a large jacket pocket or small holdall and is perfect for travel, walks, days out, etc.

Perfect beginner camera and fantastic gift.
I bought the Canon EOS R50 as a birthday gift for my wife, and it has been a fantastic choice so far. She absolutely loved it from the moment she opened it and has already used it several times to take photos and explore the various settings. As this is her first camera of this type, ease of use was really important—and the R50 has delivered. It was simple to get started straight out of the box, and she’s been able to begin experimenting and learning without feeling overwhelmed. It’s still early days, but the camera has met all of her expectations so far. Based on our experience and the many positive reviews, I’m confident it will continue to be a great investment as she develops her photography skills. Overall, a brilliant gift and a great camera for beginners looking to grow into photography.

Fantastic camera
A fantastic little camera. I've just swapped from a DSLR and am blown away by the small form factor and how light the camera is. The picture quality is excellent.

Excellent beginners camera
Brilliant APS camera. Perfect for beginners and hobbyists. Price was excellent for a UK model. Couldn’t even find a grey import cheaper than the Amazon sale price.

Does exactly what it says on the tin—but I opted for the A7 IV
I’ll be honest: the Canon R50 does tick all the basic boxes – snappy autofocus, lightweight design and crisp shots straight out of camera. It’s perfect for holiday snaps or YouTube vlogs. However, when I pushed it in dim light and tried burst mode, the buffer choked and the image quality felt a touch flat. It did exactly what it said on the tin—and stopped there. In the end I returned it and splurged on the Sony A7 IV for the extra dynamic range and battery life. If you’re after a no-frills starter, the R50 will do the job, but pro-level features? You’ll need to look a bit higher up the ladder.

What an incredible piece of kit.
I got not only the best deal on this from Amazon (direct rather than a 3rd Party) but the assurance of buying from an organisation that recognises how much I spend with them and trusts me accordingly. I will almost always pay more, if necessary, and buy from Amazon for peace of mind. As for the camera- it’s as good as I expected it to be being from Canon. Awesome photos can be taken with it by a complete novice and all of the more complex functionality is there for those who want much more control. This camera sits in an interesting space pretty much on its own. It’s small and light enough to slip into a coat pocket (even with a travel lens attached) but as powerful as the larger cameras that are not as portable. It really is an awesome piece of kit at a very fair price. Highly recommended and I know that Amazon will look after me. Hopefully many years of enjoyment to come from this and yes, the photos are significantly better than the ones I can take with my iPhone 16 Pro Max. There really is still a place for dedicated cameras.

canon handling and cable
Is good camera takes good pictures. However i found a couple of buttons were too near the thumb grip so found myself pressing by accident occasionally which is a minor annoyance. Also no usb cable if i wanted to upload photos to my computer that way if i wanted . I did get a battery charger with cable to plug into wall . The price of buying a usb cable direct from canon would have been about £40.00 if i remember right which is expensive for what it is.

çok güzel. portatif. heryerde rahatlıkla taşıyabilirsin. menüsü çok kolay. içinden 18 45 lens çıkıyor. bunun yerine 18 150 lensli bulabilirseniz onu tercih edin. ben yanına 55 210 aldım. iki lensi de kullanıyorum.
