Comes with both hardened metal and diamond type files. I used these for modifying plastic parts and fine 'plastic' work to get parts to fit together better. I think this will work well for plastic modelling or finishing 3D printed parts. Love that it comes with a brush to clean up the file after using. I used the brush after using the diamond files on plastic and the brush did a great job in getting all the plastic dust off the files.
