Also, something that I haven't really seen stressed anywhere, the reflux mode is completely automatic, so you can leave it running and it will shut itself off when it's done. Being paranoid, I still make sure to run it only when I'm present, but I don't have to watch it as closely or guess when it's done during stripping runs. Be aware that the reflux mode takes a very long time to run, like 4-8 hours, so set it up and go find something else to do while it does its thing. Overall, this is a great product for what it does and I would buy it again. The seller also had the best price anywhere I could find, it was in stock, and delivery was faster than expected. Is the top of inside lid plastic or stainless steel? Thank You** A: Inside of lid is SS.These are super great stills for experimenting with small batches. I highly recommend these stills. Just plug them in & let them go! **Q: Is this the 240 or 110 version?** A: This is the 110V version **Q: How does this seperate heads, hearts, and tails?** A: You would need to make a call when Heads stops and Hearts begin. Don't worry about the Foreshot, that just leads into the Heads and that's where you have to smell & taste. When the Hearts are done you should be getting towards 20-30 ABV. You would have to make a call here and stop the run.. **Q: is this appropriate for grape pomace to make grappa? (which is very dry) or does this require the input to be a liquid?** A: Yes, it only works with liquids. You would need to ferment the grape pomace and strain out the fruit so that it is just a liquid. Fruit chunks should never be placed in the device. The output will be very high alcohol, almost without flavor.
