I love my Tupperware! When I first ordered them washed them and let them dry, I decide to give them the closure test. When the close do they seal tight, what about the pressure since Tupperware is know for their pop when opening and closing the lid, and so I tired. The first thing after drying I tried to close the lid on the bowl and had difficulties, I started to send them back, but one night as I was putting away leftovers, I decide to use one of the bowls, but I still couldn't get the lid to close, out of frustration I took a elbow to the center of the lid and it closed! :) I decided to keep the bowls and use this method and I'm happy now, It keeps my food fresh and well kept and they stack right on top of each other, leaving me with space in my fridge, I still have my set from the 80's. So if anyone is having problems closing the lid, place the lid on and push down in the center of it with your elbow until all of the air is out and you hear that click. they stack well and do not take up a lot of space And you don't have to replace them for years. the can be used for many functions Sorry I didn't take a photo, but I bought the turquoise ones.

These are super awesome and way better than using the discount temporary storage containers at major grocery stores. The colors are way cool. I'd like more in the blue colors. Start a collection.

There is nothing wrong with your lids! Watch my video! I grew up as a child using Tupperware, from both my grandmother and my mother’s kitchens. This is the trick that we used back in the old days, and it still works perfectly now. Line your lid up perfectly. Place your elbow in the center circle of the lid, and press using medium pressure with your elbow. The lid will snap into place and fit nice and tight. This trick worked well back in the day, and it still works now. I urge you to try this before returning your Tupperware, because there is nothing wrong with it at all, and I can assure you this will work for you! On a sidenote, this blue set that I purchased is absolutely gorgeous, and the same quality I remember it being as a child. I absolutely love these bowls!

Update after seven months: I love these bowls! They are my most often used ones and I don't know how I managed without them. They still look new after many washes in the top rack of the dishwasher. The lids still seal perfectly by pressing down on the center. The set includes a size for most any use. (I don't heat things in any kind of plastic, and these are not microwave safe. Use glass for that.) Original review: I love the vintage look and pastel colors of these bowls. I'm not sure they're exactly like the old ones but I think I'll enjoy using them. The starburst lids seal by pressing down on the center, not around the edges. The leaflet that was enclosed said if a lid doesn't seal exactly right, soak it in very hot water for 10 minutes and then put it on the bowl by pressing the center and then let it cool. This worked great. Out of the box all sealed well except the largest one, but it now seals correctly. Please note these are NOT microwave safe. On my first two orders of the bowl set I received canister sets which had incorrect stickers on them, which I returned. I then tried ordering a canister set, and voila, I received my bowl set! LOL (The code stickers were mistakenly switched on the bowls and canisters; no telling how many. See other reviews.) I have tried to tell amazon about this problem and hope they get it fixed so people receive the correct item they ordered. I'm just glad I finally got my bowl set. I'm pleased with them so far. The largest bowl says Made in USA on the bottom so presumably that means the whole set is.

Safe savers. Pretty colors. Lids snap on easy. Keeps food fresh. Will buy again. A little pricey but worth it!
