Terrific Add-on To a Connetix Set or Sets
This review is for the Connetix Pastel Base Plate Pack, Pink & Berry, 2 Pieces. Included are just two square shaped magnetic units which are four by four units in size, this set is an expansion set for someone that already has a starter kit or other sets ready to build upon these bases. I ordered this for my grandson who already has a couple of Connectix sets so this will allow him to build larger projects using this as a sturdy base and over time more and more sets can be added for even more capability. The quality is about the best that I've seen for magnetic building blocks and the pieces grab to each other with ease. Every piece is made from a very strong and safe non toxic plastic and houses strong magnets for a decent and sturdy model to be built. Each of the pieces are quite large so it might be a slight problem for very small hands however my six year old has no such issues using these along with his other sets. As the pieces stack to one another the model becomes pretty solid and can be used for numerous ideas and designs, obviously the more sets you have the more than can be done but even if this was to be added with just one starter type set it will give the child a brilliant introduction into the world of construction and really help to advance their imagination as well as their dexterity. I ordered this along with a set of 12 rectangular tiles so now with his existing sets he can really use his learned skills to the maximum. Overall, these are not cheap but if you want quality and safety for your child then you shouldn't compromise and just get the best which I believe is Connetix, this is obviously an add-on set so if you haven't used Connetix before then maybe purchase a starter set first and then add to it with this set and others. Recommended.

Expensive but a brilliant product to expand magnetic tiles play
We have many magnetic tiles toys but the Connetix brand is definitely our favourite so when I saw the Connetix Pastel Base Plate Pack I thought we'd give them a go. There are two base plates in the pack in the colours pink and berry. These are really nice colours and they go well with the magnetic tiles we already own. Much like the rest of the Connetix range they are very strong both in terms of the plastics durability and the magnet strength. Each base plate is 30cm square and can be used as part of a creation or as a base for creations. There are magnets all the way through the base plate (unlike the smaller ones included in sets which just have magnets around the outside) which mean it is good for making things such as a house. I have shown this in the photo I have included but to clarify only the two magnetic tiles base plates come in this set. I am really pleased with these and we've enjoyed having them as part of our collection but I do think they are hugely overpriced. I wouldn't pay more than £20 for these as there's only two included. Not the best value for money but an excellent quality product from our favourite brand of magnetic tiles.

Essential For Magnet Blocks
I've been debating the ratings for these types of toys. Having been a big Lego fan, I am able to justify the prices of those products. This is a little more esoteric. You effectively get a blank canvas with magnet toys. There's no set ways to play with them, and in that sense they rely more on the imagination. This is both good and bad, but should be borne out when deciding if it's appropriate for your target. What is clear is that you need multiple sets to maximise the potential. this base set is therefore essential, forming the foundation of any build. It can also be used to make basic structures, as well as being a baseplate. At £39, it isn't cheap, but does come well packaged and is an excellent build quality. No issues with the magnets, they are strong, and the structures themselves, are surprisingly lightweight. Happy to recommend, but the whole thing can get very expensive, but they will last and not be painful to step on.

Extra possibilities
The base does give extra possibilities, but I feel it very expensive for what it is. Not sure it is worth it. Maybe more pieces would be best

Lovely colour shade
I recently purchased the Pastel Base Plate Pack in Pink & Berry, and I am absolutely thrilled with my purchase. These base plates have quickly become a favorite addition to my building block collection, and for good reason. Here's why I highly recommend them: First and foremost, the colors of these base plates are simply delightful. The soft pastel shades of pink and berry add a touch of sweetness and charm to my building creations. Whether I'm constructing a cozy cottage, a bustling cityscape, or a whimsical fantasy world, these base plates provide the perfect backdrop with their cheerful hues. The quality of these base plates is also exceptional. They are made from sturdy and durable materials that can withstand hours of imaginative play. The studs on the surface are perfectly molded, allowing my building blocks to snap into place securely without any wobbling or instability. This ensures that my creations remain intact even during the most elaborate and ambitious building projects. I appreciate the versatility of these base plates. With two different colors included in the pack, I have the flexibility to create a variety of scenes and landscapes. Whether I want to build a vibrant city skyline, a serene countryside, or a bustling marketplace, these base plates provide the perfect foundation for my imagination to run wild. Another fantastic feature of these base plates is their compatibility with other building block brands. Whether I'm using LEGO, Mega Bloks, or another brand of building blocks, these base plates are fully compatible, allowing me to mix and match different sets to create endless possibilities. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase of the Pastel Base Plate Pack in Pink & Berry. The charming colors, sturdy construction, versatility, and compatibility make these base plates a must-have addition to any building block collection. Whether you're a seasoned builder or just starting out, these base plates are sure to inspire creativity and endless hours of fun. Highly recommended!

Great effect
I really love these magnetic tiles. Are great, helping to develop imagination of your kid. This it`s only a square pack, so it's good to extend an existing collection and used along with other shapes that connectix provides. They are well built and the magnets are very strong. The bright vibrant colours will appeal to kids. It comes with a booklet, but to build all of it you would need more kits. A bit expensive but this is a kit that last well

Great Base for Building On!
If your child plays with magnet tiles, then these will look familiar. The difference being, instead of 16 individual tiles, you get 2x 4x4 sheets made as one big tile! Each one of the individual 16 squares that makes up the large square still retains its own magnets so you can build internally as well as externally around the square. The large square makes a great base for your child you build on top of with their individual magnetic tiles. We have a few assorted brands of magnetic tiles and the Connetix ones are probably the best ones I’ve seen so far for terms of build quality and material used.

It's pretty because of the nice colours but seriously, £39 for 2 small bases is ridiculous 😲
I'm going to be a party pooper here because I seem to be the only reviewer who thinks this Connetix Pastel Base Plate Pack, Pink & Berry, 2 Pieces is no different to any other magnetic tiles base plate set and far too expensive for the only 2 pieces you get. They're a good size but in honesty, you'd get that big square look with 9 normal square tiles anyway - with the only difference being that the separate tiles wouldn't be one piece. In play building, children want variety. Connetix are overpriced and this set is the perfect example. For the price of these 2 pieces you can buy a complete set of a non-branded one that has so many different shapes and sizes and colours. Yes, it's pretty because of the nice colours but seriously, £39 for 2 small bases is ridiculous. The magnets on these are not any stronger than the cheapest tiles I have and my grandchildren hardly used these bases as the colours aren't to their liking for building. I would not recommend.
