What is the width of the cut strips? I need 1/8 inch. Are the cuts very straight and clean or a bit rough. Need item for quilling.

I don't know exactly, but it means that this product cuts papers into one pieces of whole paper to 1/8 inch of pieces. I used it only for cutting papers, it usually cut very straight, especially when I cut A4 papers.

I just need to shred the occasional bill is this good for that?

yes.it was made for that!very popular item in japan.thanks!

does the blade last long or does it wear out when only cutting regular paper?

I only cut regular paper and the blade is working fine so far.
