How do I know, because at 230 pounds I put my hand on it and it broke off nearly sending me head long into the wall. Crap design. Like all to many products these days I took it to my wood shop and fabricated a sturdy top rail that will support the 270 pounds the device boasts in advertising. It is no longer made in China, it is now made in America. I am a retired Combat Engineer so perhaps I expect something to hold up as advertised, I am happy with the product now, it is light weight aluminum solid construction, all except the cheap plastic that I have reinforced with plywood. . ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lightweight ladder. *by E***E on Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2018* I really like this little ladder! It is lightweight, less than 8 pounds, so easy to move anywhere. I can lift it with two fingers. It folds up nice and slim for storage. The steps are sturdy and I feel very secure on it. The top black tray is not meant for weight, just lightweight items or maybe a quart of paint. Don't count on it for support. Much better than lugging around a 5' wood ladder, for sure.
