(Red light flashes indicating filter needs to be changed.) I don't see a reset button.** A: You have to push and hold the UV Control Button for 5 seconds to reset the Filter Change indicator. **Q: do we only need this filter? it has the black and white part? or do we need to buy another one?** A: Yes you do need to buy another one...But if you keep cleaned off it will last about a year...I love mine so much bought another one ,because I live in 2,000 sq ft... **Q: Can the pre-filter be sprayed off with water? We use it next to the cat litter box and it gets dusty fast!** A: I don't recommend it. The filter will crumble and fall apart (i've tried!). What I normally do is get a disinfectant wipe and wipe the filters down. I have cats too and mine is also relatively close to the liter box. **Q: how often do I change filter?** A: I thought the sign signal would come up to replace? Or you just replace without the sign coming up? I had mine for more than a year and I haven't changed the filter because the sign never came up? I don't use it all day just when the kids are in the room mostly during night time and it is in low. Could that be it? Works well, relatively quiet, bonus UV light. This is the OEM replacement filter which is exactly the filter that came with the unit and was around $20 when I purchased it. Compared to most other "name brand" models of air purifiers, that's really inexpensive. Great value in this unit. There is both a HEPA and charcoal foam filter. Pop out the old one and pop in the new one. Super easy!
