pillow firm pressed in the package, however, it returns to its original size in a few seconds. with respect to quality, it is soft texture. It is cotton blended with polyester. please expect therapeutic experience while you sleep. yes, it is bit harder but it is soft & comfortable most of the time. we ourselves sleep in the flat floor, it is comfortable for 8 hours. we recommend it for regular usage at home. however, please buy & test it before you buy few. thanks,
