Great for cafetière and pour-over brewing
This product is very well designed, engineered and produces a good grind with the supplied flat burrs. Its a bit more expensive than the Gen 1 version but regarded in reviews as significantly better. Since I lack an expresso machine the inability to grind fine enough for that is not an issue, but it would be if that is your preferred coffee extraction method. For all other methods and for coarse does to medium/fine, it is very good indeed.

Neat coffee grinder
A nice compact coffee grinder. Very easy to use, quiet compared to others that I have used. Grinds very quick and accurate. This has to be one of the best that I have owned. Would certainly recommend. Also such a small footprint on the worktop.

Simple, fast, efficient and quiet
Fantastic investment. The flavours that come through in the coffee with this grinder are just incredible. Has definitely moved my coffee brewing to the next level! Simple to use, very quiet and looks utterly fantastic on the counter. Absolutely love it!!!

The best cup of coffee I ever had!
I’m totally blown away from the coffee it produces from this grinder! Never own the Gen 1 before so I’m pretty lucky to have the opportunity to buy Gen 2 and the gen 2 burrs that pre installed in it. First I brewed my first siphon coffee with grind size set at 3.5. Let me tell you, the body of the coffee was light and clear but it doesn’t sacrifice the bold and rich flavor of the coffee. It tasted silky and velvety and sweet! Very low acidity! Btw I love acidity, so probably I would need to light roast my coffee down a notch! Before jumping into flat burrs, conical burrs were my main go-to grinder so I already know what it tastes like. It tastes nothing like the flat burrs. The conical burrs produces a heavy body and bold taste of coffee with a little bit of bitterness and some sweetness to it. Now I know the importance of choosing the right coffee burrs grinder can ultimately determine what the final cup in your cup should taste like. Don’t save money on coffee grinders if every coffee gear in your countertop is the best except for the burr grinder. Then your final cup will be boring and minimal! QC: Mine out of the box has several scuff marks which is ok for me. Months later, I bought a bellows to knock the finer grounds just because the built in knocker clicker is not strong enough to purge the finer ground so getting a bellows to puff out the ground is an absolute necessity for an added on accessory! Update: a month later in the usage; here’s my little rant: the ground that is coming from the opening chute always gets clogged with fine ground. I have to use a brush to dig the ground from it. The knocker no longer helps getting zero retention as I have to either use my finger or a brush to scoop out the remaining bits of ground that was stuck at the opening of the chute. Original retail price was 470 First price discount at 399.50 Second price discount now: 376 I paid 399.50…

Disappointed with this product
Grinder is two weeks old and jamming. Once jammed, the process to clear is a nightmare. Not sure why the discharge port is so choked down. This is a major design flaw from my experience with unit. For the price of this thing I find it unacceptable to be needing to clear jams this way. It recommends increasing grind size to help clear, but I'm already using at the coarsest setting. Maybe add a contingency to open extra-wide to make jam clearing less of a gong show. Otherwise the build quality is top notch and looks amazing. But if it can't grind without frequent jamming, who cares about anything else.

Efficient precision
The Fellow Ode Gen 2 has completely elevated my pour over routine. The design is beautiful in that clean, modern way that actually looks good sitting on the counter, but what really impressed me is how smooth and quiet it is. Instead of a harsh grinder sound, it has this soft hum that feels refined and efficient. The grind consistency is excellent and made an immediate difference in my pourovers; balanced extraction, cleaner flavor, and way more control cup to cup. It’s fast, low mess, and just feels thoughtfully engineered. One of those products that makes the entire coffee ritual feel better every morning.
