100 BIG BEN Super Stainless double edge razor blades

Big Ben safety razors are some of my favorite to shave with! They are incredibly well-priced, sharp without being aggressive, and leave my skin smooth and without irritation. I highly recommend them for any shaver!

So, if you're a DE user, you know how personalized blade preferences can be. Upfront, I really like the Lord New Platinums...for me they just work well and I get a great shave at a good price per blade. So when I saw the 100 pack of the Big Bens (also made by Soliman of Egypt) for $7, I figured I'd give them a try.I find they are very good blades, very much along the lines of the Lords. Maybe a touch less sharp, maybe a touch less smooth on the first shave. I do a two pass shave every AM (WTG and XTG) and I've gotten terrific results with these. Shaves number two and three typically are really smooth and easy, but on the fourth shave I can detect the beginnings of a little chatter and tugginess. I can't speak to longevity, as I switch blades after the fourth shave, no matter what blade I'm shaving with.I would put these a little below my top two (Lord New Platinum and Bic Chrome Platinums) and above their Soliman stable mate Shark Platinum and Stainless. I would rate them as sharper than Astras, but not as smooth. I generally use mild to medium razors (EJ DE89, Gillette Tech, Gillette Super Speed) and I'm happy, with a smooth, close shave and no burn or weepers.

Good quality blades- great price. No issues.

Not quite as sharp as Feather but they seem to last longer and shave smoother, and they're cheaper too.Bought 2 packages of 100 which should last me years.

normally have a handful of brands normally sticking to.not a snob about blades. So, try new ones here and there.these are fairly sharp out of the package and work well on medium thickness hair. With grain and against grain shaving goes smoothly.the impressive part is how well it holds the sharpness. most of the time can get two great shaves and one good shave out of a blade, so changing blade after two usages. That is including whole head shaving. these, are still just as sharp for a WHOLE 3rd shave. could push it for a fourth half really good shave, but switch out after.overall found a new brand will buying if price is good.

I highly suggest buying a variety pack of blades before buying a 100 packet of any brand. I made the mistake of buying this brand and it didn't quite work for me. I bought a variety pack and found another brand that worked on my skin much better. Not a negative specifically to this product as every face is different.

They are not safe. I was holding a blade and I felt like testing if they are sharp enough.

Not particularly sharp. Used various razors..Merkur..Parker..Gilette.. and others with the conclusion that these blades were not efficacious after one shave. Some blades seemed sharper than others so I will not repurchases this brand. Astra blades sharper.

I got a box of 200 blades that was slashed in half down the middle -- the mangled box is very ugly. The box being cut in half isn't the biggest deal if you don't care about the looks of the box, but I do care about the look of the box, and the store page doesn't say "ugly pack of 10 10 count blades", it says "100 blades (20x5)" and has a picture of a nice package to go along with the blades.If you only care about the quality and price of the blades, buying a pack of Shark or LORD super stainless blades is a better buy than these because they are pretty much the same blades, but a couple dollars cheaper.Also, I was expecting the individual blades to be wrapped in two layers of paper, first with the Big Ben branding and then a more standard plain blade wrapper. I think that wrapping is on older blades or something. I really liked those double wrapped blades, which I got in a blade sample pack. The blades I got in this box had just the single wrapper with the words "Big Ben" and no branding. The blades don't seem as good as the other Big Ben razor blades.The blades do seem about the same as the other LORD super stainless blades, and those are a few dollars cheaper than these. Without the nice box and branding there is no reason to spend the extra money on these as opposed to the Shark or LORD super stainless blades, which seem to be the same blades.
