**Q: does this last for 5years when in use or when not in use**
A: No!! I bought 1 in October last year, used it in heavy rain once to protect my garage, dried it flat outside on warm, dry days, laid out in garage in case I need it again... whatever is inside has clumped and disintegrated.. rather pricey for 1 use!!

**Q: what is the materiel please**
A: Quick Dams contain a super absorbent polymer that is non-toxic & non-hazardous.
One of the key features of Quick Dams (Patent Pending) is the black nonwoven durable fabric that provides UV protection that prevents degradation of
the inner absorbent. Allowing the consumer to leave Quick Dams in position,
for many months of ongoing protection

**Q: will this work on gravel as trying to stop water flooding the awning of my caravan**
A: No.  The water will seep through the gravel underneath.  You will need to scrape the gravel away till you get to something solid.

**Q: should you activate before a thunder storm warning or take the chance that it is not activated inside a garage as it takes too long to swell ?**
A: It’s designed to activate on contact with water and can be left in position for months . From experience it activates quite quickly and evenly . Even if water only hits one part . The only situation I would pre activate for would be if you are expecting a mass of water all at once in that situation it would not activate fast enough
