RAGBRAI tested and approved
I love these shorts and I LOVE the deal I got on Amazon. I bought these for about $30 on Amazon, after trying them on in my local bike shop where they were priced at $80 (also priced $80 at a couple name brand online sports stores). I read the reviews thoroughly to make sure I wasn't going to get a too-good-to-be-true China knockoff, but they were exactly the same pair I tried on.They fit great and feel great on. I wore these for the entire week of RAGBRAI 2013 (460+ miles in a week) and they made an AMAZING difference in my ride this year versus last year. Last year I wore a pair of Canari women's bike shorts, also purchased off of Amazon, (paid more, but in comparison this pair of Pearl Izumi shorts are far better quality, including the seaming and the chamois), and by the end of the week I was riding in tears much of the time and had to cut the last day short. Thanks to a couple very slight adjustments to the height of my bike seat and this new pair of bike shorts, the ride was completely different this year in terms of seat comfort.I tried on several different brands and fits at my local family-owned bike shop earlier this year determined to get the best pair of shorts possible. Before I started trying on shorts, the older woman working that day helped me pick out several pair that she thought were the best, including their best sellers, and from the beginning she recommended the Pearl Izumi Attack shorts as what she thought were THE best. After trying many pairs on, I did decide on the Pearl Izumi Attack pair, even over some other name-brand and more expensive styles. The seams and chamois are very good quality, best even of the pairs I tried on. Definitely better than my last year Canari pair. I've already persuaded one fellow female RAGBRAI rider friend to buy a pair shortly after RAGBRAI ended, for next year!I was also a little concerned about the longer (standard I suppose) leg length on these, since I have short legs (5'1") and the Canari pair last year were a shorter cut, but these look great on. The only drawback would be because of the longer leg length on these, my horrific farmer's tan from RAGBRAI 2013 will be even harder to hide this summer. :)

nice shorts
I have another pair of Pearl Izumi that fit a little better in the thigh. (I have bigger thighs) These cut into me for sausage effect, but not uncomfortably, they are also a little small in the waist, giving me a little bulge, but again not uncomfortable. I wear a size 8 in jeans, so it seems to me that a medium should fit a little better than that. I love the little silicone dots that keep them in place. I'm six months new to biking and have never had bike shorts before, but now I even wear them to spin classes in addition to trail rides. Have only had Izumis so I can't compare, but I've been happy with them and they hold up well. If you aren't wearing bike shorts, you are missing a level of comfort you aren't even aware of.

Lots of seams but overall comfy
I ordered this pair of shorts and also bought a pair of the Pearl Izumi Quest shorts. The padding in both is pretty similar, though one has the "race" and the other the "tour" chamois. Both have a nice, wide waistband. For looks, I like that the waist comes up high, though I admit feeling a bit squashed after a longer (15+ mile) bike ride. The main difference between this and the Quest shorts is that this has multiple panels, and therefore many seams. I'm the kind of person who's always itchy--even flatlock seams can sometimes bother me. I haven't found myself scratching excessively, but I do tend to pick the Quest shorts if I really want to be comfortable.I'm 5'1", 108 lbs, and ordered a size small in both. The fit is very similar and they both are comfortable, no binding of the legs or in other areas.

Fit Normal!
Previous reviews stated this run small. I think they run ok. I got the medium, but I should get the small. I'm 122 pounds, 5'3". I usually by small or xsmall in tights, but following the reviews I got the Small. I have to mention that I have big big legs, so that's why I usually get a size up when buying bottoms online. But Small will be fine for me.Apart from the sizing these shorts are very comfortable, the chamois is enough for long rides. I use it for mountain biking, and I have been riding up to 80km with them.I like the fit, they fit in your waist, so when you are riding you don't have to worry if you are showing up something.

Saves my bottom from the saddle
These are quite comfortable for longer bike rides. I haven't had the opportunity to try other bike shorts, but these definitely do the job. The padding is very thick and it feels like you're wearing a very heavy pad, but it definitely protects you from the inner groin pain associated with biking. As far as looks go, these are not very attractive. My friend said it looked like I had a massive camel toe. However, the joke was on her when she was feeling pain and I wasn't. If you want something functional for a decent price, these shorts are the way to go.For reference, I'm 5'6", 125 lbs and the medium fit well.

Great Bike Shorts
These are my "go to" shorts on long rides and commutes. They are comfortable and wear well. I have these new versions as well as the older version. My preference is actually for the older version. This version runs slightly longer than the older version and I'm not really sold on the (for lack of a better term) cuff around the bottom part of the thigh. It's just personal preference but I preferred the old styling (circa 2010-11) to the newer style. All things considered, these are outstanding bike shorts for the cost. Great shorts that I will continue to purchase again and again. A fantastic value.

Schade!
