Twenty months after Scorpions released what was announced as their last album Sting In The Tail and promoted it with what was billed as their Farewell World Tour, they have a new package combining newly-recorded productions of some of their classic songs including "Rock You Like A Hurricane", "Wind Of Change" and "Still Loving You" with covers of songs that have hugely influenced the band down the years, previously recorded by Soft Cell, T-Rex, The Beatles, Small Faces, The Kinks and Rolling Stones. Review: brilliant - Just brilliant, personally I was not really interested in the rehash of previous releases. But in this case the covers are just brilliant and worth it all on their own. The only downside is that, in my view, the whole album could have been filled with covers such as these. If for no other reason that their own previous songs are already available on quite a few releases and albums already. But this is a good album nevertheless. Review: Reccomended - A great album.

A selection of greatest hits & covers.
Apparently the Scorps went back into the studio and re-recorded some of their earlier hits. Fortunately, if this is so, you cannot really tell the difference, as they have not gone down the path of ruining what was compelling about the original, which was always the greatest fear. Which begs the question, of course, why did they then bother to re-record? No matter, their old b(l)ack catalogue comes across well. However, their selection and re-rendering of the covers presented here is generally less inspiring; the best of which are their takes on ‘Tin Soldier’ and ‘Ruby Tuesday’, perhaps because they are marginally less well-known. The Scorps are much better when they are performing their own material, rather than that of other bands. Since the first half of the album is a rerun of their old material, it rates about 4 stars, while the covers only about 3. Track time just over 54 ¼ mins

Classic Songs!
Classic Songs. Great compilation.

Awesome, as always!
Well done, Scorps! Got a little bit of everything here all wrapped up in a neat little package : old songs recorded so they are new again - especially the "Frenglish" rendition of STILL LOVING YOU (JE T'AIME ENCORE), featuring Amandine Bourgeois on lead vocals with Klaus - and some rock & roll classics covered as only the Scorps can do it. Just to note, I used to hate Soft Cell's TAINTED LOVE, that is, until I heard it Scorps style! Now I have grown to like it - including the Soft Cell version! My ONLY *complaint* would be that this should have been a double-album, with one full disc of Scorpions classic remakes, and the other disc full of all cover songs.

great collection
terrific re-recordings, if anything more powerful than the originals. plus some great covers, 4 of the 6 of which - IMO- are better than the orinals. The other 2 were by the Beatles & the Stones, but ambitious versions here, nonetheless.

Rock You Like a Hurricaneや重く引きずるようなThe Zooはこちらの方が好みです。

There are the standard hits from the Scorpions, like No One Like You, Rock You Like a Hurricane, and Wind of Change. The exciting thing about this album is the covers of other artists songs, like Soft Cell's Tainted Love, the Beatles' Across the Universe and Ruby Tuesday, Small Faces' Tin Soldier, and the Kinks' All Day and All of the Night. I've never liked the Beatles early music, finding it too candy-coated (I Want to Hold Your Hand seems like something Justin Bieber would sing at 13, yuck), but I have gained a new appreciation for these songs from the way the Scorps have rocked them up. Tainted Love is a rock masterpiece far surpassing the original. This album is definitely a gem and a fine addition to a Scorpions or metal collection.
