GSC Rainbow Tumbling Mat

This was Santa's gift to my daughter and she loves it. She's 8 and it's big enough for her to practice her cartwheels and round-offs. It looks nice enough that I don't mind it staying in the middle of the highly-visible playroom floor. It's thick and heavy enough that it doesn't slide over our carpet. My 8 and 5 year olds can move and fold it when they work together. It folds pretty easily but cannot fold into a stack of single sections; it needs to be folded in an even numbers of sections. It wipes clean very easily. We put a little trampoline next to it and the two pieces have encouraged a lot of exercise.Our 3 kids also gravitate toward it for their floor play and reading books. They're often negotiating about who gets to use it.

Great, well constructed versatile mats! They are on the heavy side but that is one thing that I like. They are quite a bit heavier than the norberts & tumble track panel pats. They are less likely to move when I'm working on blocking drills with my gymnasts. Also great for panel mat pushes! They can be a bit awkward to fold because panels are in 1 ft sections but I like that you can create more shapes with the additional folding options.I enjoy these mats because they serve a different purpose than my lightweight 4 section folding mats. They seem to hold up really well too.

This mat was advertised as being safe for babies to crawl on! Not so! As soon as I took it out of the package I was overwhelmed with a toxic noxious rubber chemical smell! It is made in China and it contains chemicals that per this seller are safe and that is an outright lie! Our pediatrician told us to keep the kids off of this mat. It is also sprayed with fire retardant which adds to the smell because it's made out of polyethylene which is highly flammable. Polyethylene has been linked to SIDS and they do not allow baby mattresses to be sold in the U.S That contain polyethylene. I have had to keep the mat outside on the balcony due to the smell and it's been over a week! They will not allow me to return this item because I don't have the original packaging. I have been an Amazon a Prime member for awhile now and spend a lot of money monthly on work items, baby items and Amazon would not back up this return! I will be using Shoprunner instead of Amazon because of this. They have not raised their 2 day free shipping policies and they are a better alternative to this extremely unhappy customer of Prime! Shame on you Amazon to allow a seller to sell unsafe and unsuitable baby items and falsely advertise that it's safe when it is not!

Love this mat! Survived delivery without harm and my daughter and friends can practice gymnastics on it without me worrying they will harm themselves - this mat is very dense - good to cushion falls from a standard handstand or cartwheel.

I've used GSC mats at my local gym, and they were obviously quite old but were still in good shape, so seemed like a logical choice to buy one of the same brand for my home. I was not disappointed, GSC makes quality mats! It feels very cushioned and durable, and at 6'1" and 240 lbs I need it to be. My SPRI mat tore within months, so I'll update my review in about 3-6 months to see if it can stand my P90X Plyo workouts!

Wow. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this mat. I ordered it as a birthday gift for my 11 year old, who is obsessed with gymnastics. It arrived within 2 days (PRIME shipping!) and I opened it immediately for her to use. We were so impressed with the quality for the price that we have since ordered three more of these. Highly recommend and would buy again!

So far so good. I really like the eight sections as it really does lay flat. Very sturdy. Easy to move. Has exactly what I expected in terms of not hard but not soft for a tumbling mat.

I ordered this item for my baby on 31 October 2011. As of 29 December 2011, I STILL don't have not received it!
