Great Tool and Wonderful Customer Service
When I initially purchased this product I was disappointed because it was damaged. However, within 24 hours of posting my review, a representative contacted me and asked if they could send me another. I received the laser level within one business day; how great was that. It works perfectly. It is easy to use and the three laser options as wel as the three level options are fantastic. This is one of the best accessories I have in my tool bag. I would recommend this item to friends and family.

Not really designed for calligraphy but there is a work-around; works best in subdued light.
I purchased this to help with applying stenciled letters to a flat board. This laser level was designed to shine a red line (which is about 1/8" thick) onto a wall, not a table top. A small tripod comes with this, not more than a few inches high, and I'm not sure how that will be useful at all. It nicely comes with an extra set of button batteries. I mounted the laser level on a standard size camera tripod and aimed it down onto the work surface. The closer the laser was to the work surface, the shorter the lines were and overhead lighting made it difficult to even see the lines -- it's just not very bright (one rating star off for brightness). In addition, because the laser was aimed downward at an angle from the tripod, the laser lines were very curved -- it wasn't level. At a distance, the line thickness didn't change much, only its curvature, which made it unsuitable for calligraphy when mounted on a regular tripod. In order to use it for calligraphy, the laser needs to be directly over the writing area and be aimed straight down onto it. That will require the use of a C-arm type of device. Looking online for camera mounts that can do that revealed many unsatisfactory or expensive solutions. A cheap and easy solution is to use a step ladder with a wooden board clamped on top of the ladder so that the long edge of the board overhangs your work surface. Insert a screw (which should be a 1/4"-20 metal screw, a very common size) horizontally into the board edge so that the threads can engage the laser-camera mount (test the screw on the laser mount first). You would do that by drilling a 1/4" hole into the board, then screwing it in far enough into the board so that it is not loose and finally using a hack saw to cut off the screw head -- you only need about 3/8" of thread protruding from the board. Then screw the laser level onto the screw and turn it on. If you have a nut that fits onto the screw, you can use it to lock the laser tightly on the screw. You can align the laser lines by moving your work surface, the ladder, the board or the laser itself. Problem solved!

one tool many uses!
I found this when I was just looking for a tape measure . Because I only measure things in my house and my work, I do not have much use for 100 feet; but 8 feet is perfect. I was delighted to find the level (s) and laser cross-hairs, for projects that have long been extremely difficult for me...Hanging large paintings straight. Because I have a particular type of vision problems, crooked looks straight to me up close, and this takes all the trial and error out of it. Great tool, I could not be happier. They even include replacement batteries!

Cheap and of limited value.
You get what you pay for. This is a cheap laser projector with three leveling bubbles and a tap measure. First, it's not self leveling so buyer beware if that's what you're looking for. Second, no way to correlate leveling bubbles with projected laser lines. The two measurers are independent. In order to ensure a horizontal or vertical line you have to use an external level and center the beam on that level using the supplied or other (more substantial) tripod. Third, the laser is really low power so it can't be used outside during daylight. As I see it, it's only use is to project a line longer than can be generally made with a standard physical level. It can be used as a small, short tri-bubble level and as a short tape measure. No way to address accuracy of the tape or three bubbles without secondary reference calibration standards so I will pass. I would assume (and that's a bad word) that it equates to a cheap tape or bubble level from Walmart or Harbor Freight.

I love this tool
I love this tool! The laser can be seen clearly on the wall and with the tripod you can get any angle you need. I think its well worth spending the extra couple of dollars for the tripod. The gadget is durable and well made so dont let the low cost fool you. It is easy to use and perfect for getting that straight line on the wall to hang pictures, line up wall paper, chair rail, or anything else you might need to line up when remodeling.

Purchasing this is a level down.
Would not recommend this device to anyone that wants to use it. The plastic tri-pod which comes with it is very brittle and has broken. The adjustment of this level is annoying. Specifically if you want to make sure that it is projecting a verticle line which is plum. When trying to project a line which is horizonal and level, its ok, but you have to rely on the tri-pod, again, which is awful. The batteries which it comes with do work, however, the compartment whcih they go into is too large. Meaning, when the batteries are in there, if there is a disturbance, they shift and the laser doesn't work. I am at the moment looking for a new laser level and should have initially purchased the higher quality/brand name device vs a cheap one. Not worth it at all.

Used for hanging shelfs
We were building shelfs by the ceiling in 10 foot tall garage. (24โx24โx32โ)So standing on a ladder measuring and marking where the boards were to go, then snapping a chalk line was work. With this tool 1/2 way into the project. We measured once and set the laser on it. Showing us where the boards were to go. Really made the job easier. If I never used it again, it was worth it on this one job. But I see it coming in handy for other things like hanging pictures And other such projects. For about $20 worth it.

Should have purchased a higher quality laser-level elsewhere. :-(
Purchased this primarily for the laster level feature. The laser is supposed to be adjustable so you can fine-tune it and make it level. Mine came pretty misaligned and must be defective because I tried using the steel ruler tool it came with to turn the piece of plastic the beam comes out of, while in the center/cross-shaped beam position, as the instructions indicate and it will not turn. I tried turning it with a large flat screwdriver and it still will not turn and the black plastic begins to separate from the tension of the screwdriver attempting to turn the grey circle where the laser beam comes out. :-( ***UPDATE - 07/25/2018: Qooltek reached out to me and sent me a replacement at no cost to me. They told me some of the lasers have been pre-calibrated and glued to prevent accidental adjustment. The replacement I was sent is not glued so I can fine-tune it more than the previous one. Updated my star rating from 1 to 4 stars. Wasn't able to use it for hanging the paintings I purchased this tool for. Not the best laser level out there, but still a pretty inexpensive solution. Will probably end up purchasing one that's more expensive, but higher quality and doesn't take as long to calibrate and setup for each use.

Awesome tool
I just love this tool, I carry it everywhere with me. Only thing I wish can be improved is for it to have a magnetic base, so it can be mounted without having to hold it.

Handy
Handy tool to have, battery life is kinda short thatโs why I didnโt give it a 5 star.

Pretty good! Inside use only!!
Pretty good product!! Keys to make it better! many people will use this for outside use. Therefore put another 50 cents to make the laser brighter so they can see it in daylight or they can not see it. If you don't do this many people will return it!
