Absolute MUST HAVE to cook bulk chicken wings in a turkey fryer
Years ago I created a product selling on Amazon which allows you to make unbelievably amazing restaurant quality chicken wings from home. I show full cooking methods including air frying, oil frying & turkey frying. After starting with the air & oil frying methods (using the smaller residential appliances) I quickly discovered I needed to find a much bigger cooking solution since my family absolutely inhales these wings. I highly recommend upgrading from the standard 5 PSI propane regulator and hose to a 20 PSI regulator so you can maintain a bigger flame for cooking more wings. The standard turkey fryer setup can do up to 72 wings per batch. Trying to make more than that with a 5 PSI regulator gives undesirable results because the flame is unable to keep the oil temps at the necessary range. Once I upgraded to this 20 PSI regulator, I've successfully made 96 wings in a standard 30QT turkey fryer in exactly 25 mins. I was by no means a turkey frying expert when I started. In fact, I had never used a turkey fryer before because we've all seen those turkey fryer fires that aren't exactly appealing to the new user. This regulator did exactly what they said it would do and allows for a LOT of crispy chicken wings in a turkey fryer. I've used this 20 PSI regulator about 50 times in the past year and half and it's reliable, has no leaks and just works! The quality of the product does make a difference, and when you are dealing with propane, go with a well-made regulator. Absolutely 5 stars from me. Watch my video for full turkey frying instructions for better-than-restaurant wings ever single time. The all natural wing mix, ranch mix and combo packs are now available on Amazon from the link below. Works well with my 22” Blackstone.
I purchased this for my 22” blackstone griddle. I don’t like the 1lb propane bottles. This hose and regulator make it possible for me to use the larger tank. I like it a lot.

Super simple way to add a regulator to a propane quick connect
This was the send half of reusing the 100 lb propane cylinder that came with my home when I moved in. I have a trailer that I want to connect a gas stove and water heater in and this little gem is going to make that process a bit less expensive than it was going to end up being. That is because I have the fuel storage already. I just needed to connect it. First was the quick connect adapter. That was stop one. When you live at a higher elevation, you have to tweak the amount of propane that comes through otherwise pilots wont stay lit. This regulator screwed on so easily, there was really no effort in it. Adapting the 1/2 thread to a 3/4 black pipe is going to be the 2nd biggest challenge after testing out the pipe run. My handyman is going to take care of making sure my gas run is up to both snuff and code, I am fully confident in his skills. Well that, and I will be watching over his shoulder like the typical annoying customer, and asking all those stupid questions. As if I didn't already know the answers, but two sets of eyes are always better than just one. It is an explosive gas after all, so all for the sake of safety. Great adapter and great price for such an important project.

The red knob to increase or decrease the psi
So maybe I am being dumb but I did not see how to use this regulator for my blackstone (which is notorious for having regulator issues). So the important thing to note with the red valve that controls the psi, is that you should start off turning the red knob counter clockwise to decrease the amount of propane coming out. Then you can SLOWLY turn the knob clockwise to increase the amt of propane. I accidentally had the setting to the highest level and the heard a strong rush of propane shooting through the hose, making it dangerous. If you turn your propane valve on and hear a strong rushing sound of gas coming through the tank, it is probably way to high. So once again turning the red valve clockwise (which seems like you are tightening the valve, this will increase the psi). So if you immediately here a strong rush of propane your setting is to high. Other than this, it seems to be working great with no other issues and has fixed my constant regulator issues with my blackstone. BE SAFE!!

300% worth it. Do it.
THE fix you've been looking for if you're having frustrations with the Blackstone. I was initially unable to get adequate blackening on the edges, and the cooking surface was hot-and-cold. Then it took a turn. I changed tanks and on a full tank, I wasn't getting any flame. Blackstone blamed it on the regulator valve in the tank itself. I waited for their replacement regulator, changed tanks, tried two more from Home Depot and from Lowe's, and out of desperation, tried this and SO glad I did. I now can get too MUCH flame, and I have to be careful to adjust it to my needs. I can blacken the whole surface of the griddle top, and I can dial in my heat much more easily. The other regulators out there just don't allow enough gas through for what my four-burner griddle needs at full stoke. Can't recommend strongly enough, even if you don't cook a feast, it will still benefit you by 1) blackening the surface better and 2) cooking your food hotter 3) which makes it taste better, 4) spend less time on the porch around the bugs and the evil fire in the sky and 5) spend more time with family. Overall, this is the one that should have come with the griddle, or there should have been big red warnings that the other non-adjustable regulators are all terrible for this purpose. Be warned, I am almost positive this will allow more gas than other regulators. If you're using this in a remote area or around a holiday, bring an extra tank if you suspect it's below half full. The price we pay for a hot cooktop is higher gas consumption. TOTALLY worth it in my opinion.

The Propane Regulator, while very easy to install, can be a bit tricky to adjust for BBQ use due to its pressure valve. Better suited for applications that don't already have a valve like a BBQ.
