Saw these yesterday so I had to purchase them. I’m a bit of a hook collector. The black hooks caught my eye and I had to have them. Just received them today and for $10 I’m impressed. They are smooth and sleek looking. Haven’t used them yet but I will be busting them out tonight. I did give it a good feel and there’s no burrs in the metal or anything to catch on yarn. I love metal hooks but I prefer ergonomic ones because it’s a little easier to crochet for longer. I may buy another set and play with different kind of handle materials. These look and feel promising. If I incur any problems I will update my review, otherwise they seem great and would recommend to at least give it a try. Also for anyone wondering these are more of a boye hook tip. Edit: there is a coating on the hooks idk what it is but it does create a drag on some yarns. So it’s not as smooth as most brands. I would recommend them for a beginner beings that your stitches won’t easily slip off if you crochet too fast. I’m a fast crocheter so I don’t think these will make the normal rotation for me. But they are still nice to use.

I love *aesthetic* things, and was not a fan of the standard rainbow metallic crochet hooks. But I don't like the hooks with large cushions on the handle, which most of the fancier looking hooks have. These are the perfect middle ground. Just as solid as your standard metal hooks, but with a perfectly chic upgrade.

I would give these hooks 5 stars because I love the feel of them and the look of them. But my one complaint is that the hooks are only labeled with the mm measurement and not the associated letter. So I know I need a size G hook, but I have to look up on my phone every single time which one is G because it's only labeled as 4.0mm. I know some crocheters might have these memorized, but for some reason I have never been able to remember them. But as far as the hooks themselves, they are exactly as comfortable as every other aluminum hook I have used, which I prefer and have used for years, but I really love how the black matte color on these allows me to work on them and not have a glare from the light shining on the hook's surface. It's also nice for taking pictures of my projects while I'm working on them. The black matte is much nicer and classy looking instead of the random colors on my old Boye hooks.

These hooks are just uncolored metal with a black overspray and they came out of the package already scratched up. I can see the metal underneath the black coating, I doubt that the coating will last very long.

Sturdy good quality metal hooks with a beautiful black finish. Good value considering the price tag. This set will make a great gift, especially for someone wanting to start discovering her/his creative side of crochet. Crochet is more than a hobby and for some can be a way of life.
