I LOVE these candles!! The "flame" is 3-dimensional, so no matter which direction you view them, it looks like a flickering flame - just like a real flame would look from any angle. These give off a night light and look wonderful around my living room in the evening. It an added bonus that you can turn them on and off with the remote, or you can program them to come on and go off at the same time every day. Will definitely get more. Oh wait... I DID get more! And will likely order a fourth set, these candles are that wonderful!

Love the red candles! They are smaller in diameter than I expected but I was able to make 3 lantern groupings using 3 candles in each and they are so pretty. The red glass is beautiful. Also love that they take only 1 AA battery each. 2 remotes were included!

Love these! They look really classy (can’t tell they are acrylic) and the flickering candle mode makes it look like real candles. The two remote controls are awesome and make it so easy to turn off/on, even when they are all around the house. 5 stars!

I was so excited to purchase these to place in my non-working fireplace, and they do look beautiful when lit. The remote and timer feature is very convenient, though sometimes it takes a couple of clicks to get all the candles to respond. The flicker flame really does look nice in encloses spaces like the fireplace I'm using them in. One thing I don’t love is the design—the candles are quite skinny, and the tops could look more realistic. Still, they create a nice ambiance and work well overall. Tip for buyers: Use good-quality batteries for best performance. If you’re looking for a realistic wax look, these are not the best option, but for decorative purposes, they’re a solid choice.

These lights are a perfect addition to any event, table or just a little aesthetic decoration in your living space. We have small children around the house a lot and having real flame is just not safe at the moment. I purchased these so I can have the feel of the candles without all the toxins and real fire around children. I love that you can change the color from warm to cool. The glass vase it gives it a nice elevated look without looking cheap. I always have these out during holidays! They look so beautiful with a little decoration around and like I said before, I’m not worried about a kid accidentally knocking it causing a fire.

Amber: Good look & they all work. They all lite when battery inserted, & remote works fine. They make an impressive display. 2 Points: I saw little/no difference between Bright & Dim setting, & instructions explain that when set is turned off by remote - there is still a slight battery drain unless each candle is turned off manually by its own switch. (Good to know if not planning to use daily.) Flicker effect is subtle.

Saw these in my wife's cart and had heard her hinting around to them. I figured they would look cheap and fake, but they actually look really good. The lighting is soft and not overbearing. Which is what I assume their function to be, decorative and not a significant light source. They add a great ambiance to some macabre art pieces we have on the mantle. And without getting too hot, they can stay on long term. A great addition for the price.

I’m not sure why Amazon shows this as a frequently returned item. I think these candles are great! They look like real candles in a glass pillar instead of just a plain wax candle sitting out on its own. The flame does not actually flicker or move, but the flame pulses to give you the impression of a glowing candle flame. With all nine of them sitting tiered on a wrought iron stand in our fireplace, it actually looks like the candles are glowing, and the flames are moving. No, they do not look like real candles up close, because they’re not real candles. I think the expectations of some purchasers were just too high. Each candle takes one AA battery. I can’t say how long the batteries are going to last, because I only turn on these in the evenings when we have guests. The remote works perfectly, to turn them on and off. You get two remotes, I’m not quite sure why, but they both work just fine. Once in a while, one candle will not light, but if you hit the on button a second time it lights up with all the rest. The rest of the time they do look like there are real candles sitting inside our fireplace. I’m very happy with this purchase and I would purchase them again.

Look like real glass and are white. However when you light them at night they turn yellow. So started the return process. If a yellow glow doesn’t bother you than they are very pretty.
