Review: Great and inexpensive orbital sander - This sander works great. I ordered a whole bunch of sanding discs for my old craftsman sander, but I realized that my old sander does not accept the hook and loop (velcro) like most sanders nowadays do. Since all I can seem to find easily is the hook and loop design, I decided to buy a new sander. I do not use a sander very often, but when I do I want to make sure it will hold up and work great. Black and Decker is a cheaper name, but still a well-known name so I bought this one. I can safely say that I am satisfied, especially for the price.I like how there isn't an on off switch. The whole top piece is the switch! This makes it so easy to turn on and off and you can also lock it on as well. This is an 8 hole sander and most sanders and discs seem to be 8 hole anyway. The only drawback I see and its not a huge deal, but it is a pain in the butt to totally clean out the dust collector. I was shaking the thing out forever and dust was still coming out. I ended up using my air compressor to clean it out and that seemed to work good. I have used this on some boards that I glued together and it worked well. I was sanding for maybe an half an hour each time I worked on my project and I have no complaints. It is a very simple and affordable sander and I would definitely recommend this to any DIYer. ## Features - VERSATILE USE – For paint, varnish, and stain removal, surface preparation, shaping wood, finishing projects, and more. - COMPACT, ERGONOMIC DESIGN – Handheld sander provides enhanced control when accessing cramped spaces. - PADDLE SWITCH ACTUATION – Paddle switch is positioned at the top of the sander for natural and easy on and off. - HIGH-PERFORMANCE DUST COLLECTION BAG – Helps keep the worksurface clear of sawdust and debris. - HOOK-AND-LOOP SYSTEM – For quick and easy sandpaper changes. - CORDED – Corded design offers unlimited runtime for even the biggest jobs. - INCLUDES – (1) BDERO600 sander, (1) sheet sandpaper, (1) dust bag. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | AC adapter current | 2.4 Amps | | ASIN | B00OJWLZMW | | Amperage Capacity | 2.4 Amps | | Battery Description | Corded Electric, 120V | | Brand | BLACK+DECKER | | Brand Name | BLACK+DECKER | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 out of 5 stars 1,840 Reviews | | Disc Diameter | 5 inches | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00885911361095 | | Grit Number | 60 | | Grit Type | Fine | | Grit number | 60 | | Grit type | Fine | | Included Components | (1) BDERO600 Sander(1) Sheet Sandpaper(1) Dust Bag | | Manufacturer | Black & Decker | | Manufacturer Part Number | BDERO600 | | Maximum Rotational Speed | 14000 RPM | | Model Number | BDERO600 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Power Source | Corded Electric | | Power source | Corded Electric | | UPC | 885911361095 | | Voltage | 120 Volts | ## Product Details - **AC adapter current:** 2.4 Amps - **Brand:** BLACK+DECKER - **Grit type:** Fine - **Power source:** Corded Electric - **Voltage:** 120 Volts ## Images ![BLACK+DECKER 2.4 Amp 5 in. It's "stepped" in about 3 or 4 circumferences (think a round stepped pyramid). IMHO, it seems pretty awkward though to connect it to the sander. Your best bet for functionality would be to connect the adapter to your shop-vac then run a length of the flexible 3/4" (or whatever the size is) corrugated, black plastic hose from there to the sander...imho. **Q: Is this a hook and loop sander** A: Yes it can be used with hook and loop sanding discs. See instruction manual here: https://servicenet.blackanddecker.com/documents/English/Instruction%20Manual/90611919,BDERO600.pdf?_ga=2.28178876.1452442069.1500258386-956367521.1500258386 **Q: Can I use on car before paint job ?** A: Yes and no. It works great on a flat surface like most sanders do, but sanding seams and groves is better done by hand. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great and inexpensive orbital sander *by W***3 on 18 July 2017* This sander works great. Still an amazing buy for it's price! *by J***Y on 9 July 2025* I ordered this Black & Decker random orbital sander for my woodworking projects as a DIYer and a small time carpentry hobbyist. The build quality is solid and has a hefty weight to it. The sander works by pressing down on the paddle switch with your palm as you sand away. It doesn't have an actual switch and variable sanding speeds but the grip and ergonomics of the top allow for a long duration of sanding on small projects without much hand fatigue. There is a lock button so you don't accidentally turn it on when the top is pressed down, avoiding potential injuries and ruining projects. The dust collection system works well but not all particles get collected into the included dust bag. It uses the rotational force of the sander which acts like a fan inside to suck most of the dusts. Just like with any sanders, wearing a dust mask is advisable. I've used this sander numerous times now and the velcro used to attach 8-hole sanding discs still looks new and clings on the sanding discs perfectly. Just make sure to attach the sanding disks flush to the bottom so the velcro is not exposed when sanding which would lead to a significant amount of wear and tear. It comes with (1) 120 grit sanding disc but I recommend buying a variety of grits in case you want to speed up the sanding process or work finely (as the sander does not have variable speeds). Overall, this orbital sander by Black & Decker is an amazing and affordable tool to buy for any DIYers! ## Frequently Bought Together - BLACK+DECKER Orbital Sander, 5-inch Disc Sander, Corded (BDERO600) - *PC 5" H/L 100# 5-HOLE DISC 25PK - Miady 5-Inch 8-Hole Hook and Loop Sanding Discs 70PCS, 40/80/120/240/320/600/800 Assorted Grits Sandpaper for Aluminum - Pack of 70 --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.th/products/525891148-black-decker-2-4-amp-5-in-electric-random-orbit](https://www.desertcart.co.th/products/525891148-black-decker-2-4-amp-5-in-electric-random-orbit) --- *Product available on Desertcart Thailand* *Store origin: TH* *Last updated: 2026-11-08*
