The Knight Who Wouldn't Fight: 1 : Docherty, Helen, Docherty, Thomas: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Such a lovely book! - I ordered this for my reception class based purely on the fact it was about a Dragon and a knight, to fit in with our castles topic. I was very pleasantly surprised to discover a beautifully written story, told in humorous rhymes, with equally stunning illustrations. The storyline focuses on Leo, a young knight who loves reading and really isn't keen on the idea of fighting a dragon, discovering that he can use the power of books to tame even the most fearsome of creatures. My class love it just as much as I do and any story that focuses on a love of books and shows reading in a positive light is a winner in my eyes. Review: I love it. No, I really do LOVE it. - A really great book. It has a wonderful child-knight character who loves to read and uses books rather than a sword to save the day. It is a wonderful story told in perfect rhyme and with lots of humour. I also adore the illustrations - the green and orange contrasting colours are beautiful (in fact at the moment it is my favourite book and I always choose it to read to my children, aged 4 and 6). The children like it too, so it is a winner all round. Definitely buy this book, your life will be happier for it!

Thank you so much for this wonderful book! My kids (ages 4, 3 & 1) have requested it over and over again every night since we got it. Beautiful morals, rhythm, rhyme, humour, illustrations, action and adventure. It's got it all.
