Why dose the light keep turning off every 10 seconds? I did put in new batteries

It has an auto switch-off function but I think it turns off every 50s not 10s, so I think you better return it and change a new one.

No, my did not. I purchased one that I exchanged for that reason. The replacement also would not snap shut, so I returned that one as well.
