Ich habe mir den Raketenofen gekauft, um neben Feuerschale, Grillrost und Dutch Oven für das Outdoor-Kochen eine weitere Option zu haben, und ich muss sagen, dass ich die Entscheidung nicht bereut habe. Die Lieferung erfolgte schnell, und der Ofen war solide verpackt und gepolstert. Für einen ersten Brenntest habe ich den Raketenofen mit diversen Brennstoffen befüllt, auch um die Brenndauer verschiedener Materialien (trockenes Holz, dünne Holzscheite, Zapfen, Gartenverschnitt) einschätzen zu können. Das hat sehr schnell funktioniert, so dass ich mich kurz danach an einem Steak in der Gusseisenpfanne versucht habe. Was soll ich sagen? Das hat super geklappt! Der Raketenofen kommt durch den Kamineffekt unglaublich schnell auf Temperatur, und durch die starke Hitzeentwicklung nach oben kommt auch das Kochgeschirr schnell auf Temperatur. Aufgrund ebendieser starken Hitze verbrennt das Brennmaterial natürlich ziemlich schnell, so dass relativ zügig nachgelegt werden muss, was durch die Klappe und die kleine Brennholzablage sehr einfach vonstatten geht. Die Hitzeregulierung gestaltet sich erstaunlich einfach; hier muss man einfach etwas herumprobieren, denn es ist natürlich auch davon abhängig, was man kochen möchte, und mit welchem Kochgeschirr man arbeitet. Ich habe bisher Steak, Würstchen sowie Eintopf auf dem Raketenofen gemacht, und es hat jedes Mal hervorragend funktioniert. Durch die kompakte Größe kann man den Raketenofen auch gut auf kürzere Outdoor-Trips mitnehmen, wenn man abends auf eine leckere Mahlzeit nicht verzichten möchte. Die Verarbeitung ist extrem solide, die Holzgriffe werden auch nach langem Betrieb nicht heiß, so dass der Raketenofen sogar während des Brennvorgangs bewegt werden kann, falls es nötig ist. Petromax hat mich mit seinen Produkten bisher immer begeistert, und hier ist es nicht anders. Wer überlegt, sich einen Raketenofen zuzulegen, sollte auf jeden Fall den Petromax in Betracht ziehen!
