It's really only good for 40m 4k30 recording before it gives up and takes an angry nap for a few minutes. I use it as a C cam, so this ain't ideal, but it's acceptable enough for the price If recording long sessions ain't a concern for you, yea I'd reccomend this one as a solid entry pick

Because there are several adapters for the RF mount I am able to use all of my lenses with it. OM, Nikon ai, EF, m42, etc. It is an APSC body but I don’t mind the crop with most of my lenses. I do also have a speed booster for when I need something closer to a full frame look. Compared to my R8 and 250d the R50 is the clear winner in battery life. The autofocus is fast and I have had no issues in lowlight settings. I do like that the camera has a built in flash for my pocket dispo lens. The R50 doesn’t overheat nearly as quickly as the R8 when filming in 4K. The maximum recording time is 1 hour so you need to keep that in mind. The other day I filmed in 1080 for an hour and a half (with a break to start a new recording at 50 minutes) and I didn’t need to swap batteries or let the camera cool down. The white also looks very slick. It makes me want to buy a white or silver lens. There is a 3.5mm jack for a microphone but there is not headphone jack and no shutter control jack. I have used HDMI out for a stream into OBS and didn’t have any issues. The image with all the accessories shows how the camera usually looks when I’m shooting. The drum footage is from my sirui nightwalker 16mm, a cine lense built for APSC. I love the way that lens looks on my R50. The photo with the wooden backdrop shows the speed booster that I use to get near full frame results from my vintage full frame lenses.

I'm a content creator on YouTube and had been using a gifted T3 Rebel camera a few years ago. While it's done the job for me, it was time to upgrade and not use my cell phone for content. I finally bit the bullet and made my first big purchase for my channel (Budgeting The Bacon). My videos are a lot clearer than previously where it didn't matter how much I used a 4K clip for my videos, the clarity was not there. This camera is going to take me to the next level with my content and not have me self conscious about my content, anymore.
