Different from typical bully sticks! It is clear these are less processed than traditional bully sticks and my girl goes absolutely wild over them. She is a mini dachshund and the chews still last several hours. Perhaps slightly less time than a traditional bully stick but she is focused the entirety of the time rather than getting bored with traditional ones. I got into bully sticks in hopes to entertain her a bit/keep her busy while I work and these surely do the trick. They are a bit more expensive, but for the time and entertainment they provide, I will surely be purchasing more.

My medium-sized, expert chewer loves these bully sticks, HOWEVER, for the price I would expect better quality control. This last bag I received had only 3 bully sticks and 1 of them was semi massive. I inspected this massive one before giving it to her and it did appear to be freeze dried like the others I gave her before. About 10 minutes later though, I hear her starting to crunch on something hard and then I see her struggling to chew the end bit of the stick. It sounded and looked like she was gnawing/trying to crush a raw bone NOT a freeze dried bone. Luckily, she is not territorial over food, so I was able to take it away from her quickly. Sure enough, this end bit was not freeze dried and is as dense as a real bone! My sharpest knife can’t even cut through it. If this company loves dogs, they need to implement better quality control on these bully sticks to prevent any choking or accident or hospitalization or death. Also, since I’m already upset, the price on these is insane. $16 for 1.4 oz (3 bully sticks) and one of them almost took out my baby, they lost me.

Please be sure you know what you are getting before you buy. This is the second time I ordered and I have only received 4 in the bag each time. That is way too expensive for how little you get. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s a great product. My dog loves them and that’s saying something because she is so picky. She is 13 years old and the regular bully sticks can sometimes be too hard on her teeth. These are just the right hardness for her. Unfortunately, my pocketbook does have some limits, even when it comes to her. Just so you have all the information, they also don’t last long. Maybe a few minutes. But that is because they are dehydrated and not roasted. Like I said, they aren’t nearly as hard as a regular bully stick. I don’t even use a bully stick holder when feeding it to her. It isn’t necessary. You might find that to be a positive or negative. It all depends on your dog’s needs. If you actually got more in the bag I would give them a higher star rating. But I just end up feeling ripped off when I open the bag and see how little I get for how much I paid. So that’s enough for me. After two times buying these and getting the same thing each time, it would be my own fault if I bought them again.

My dog loves these!!! However, I used to get 5 in the bag every time. The last time there were 4 sticks. This time there were 3 sticks. What is going on???? They are not any bigger than usual. So don’t try to say it’s the weight. So these are now $5 each! Ridiculous!!! Vital Essentials needs to make this right.

These are nice chews for your dog. They are softer than a lot of bully sticks. Our lab has them gone pretty quickly, but she loves them.
