Great Option for 2.5G Connectivity, But Watch for Overheating
I recently purchased the SODOLA 8 Port 2.5G Ethernet Switch to enhance the capability of my home lab. The primary reason behind my purchase was to add 2.5gb connectivity, and in that aspect, this switch performs admirably. The temperature of the 2.5gb ports is generally at an acceptable level when the switch is used on its own. However, I noticed a significant increase in temperature as soon as I connected the 10gb port with my Mikrotik CCR2004 router. This resulted in the device becoming quite hot, which did have an impact on the overall throughput capacity. However, it's important to note that you need to actively be looking for this issue to notice it. For most regular users, this minor heat increase might not be a noticeable concern. To ensure optimal performance, I would strongly recommend keeping this switch in a well-ventilated area to prevent any potential overheating problems. Despite the heat issue, I still consider this switch to be a very good option for adding 2.5gb connectivity to your home lab. The performance and functionality it provides outweigh the temperature concern, especially if you take proper precautions with ventilation. In conclusion, the SODOLA 8 Port 2.5G Ethernet Switch is a reliable choice for enhancing your home lab's connectivity. Just keep in mind the potential heat issues and make sure you have adequate ventilation in place. Overall, I am satisfied with this purchase and would recommend it to others seeking to upgrade their network capabilities.

9-PORTS! Looking for Good Low Cost 5Gb Transfer Speeds using SMB Multichannel? THIS IS IT!
I have two Win11 PCs and two Asustor 5402 NAS units and needed to get 5Gb data transfers between all 4 devices. Win11 has SMB Multichannel Enabled by default. Add two 2.5Gb network cards to each PC with CAT6 or better cables to 4 ports on the switch. Asustor units already have dual 2.5Gb NICs, just have to easily enable SMB Multichannel and then 4xCAT6 cables to the switch. Add a SFP module to port 9 with the speed you need to connect to your router, I used 2.5Gb. That's IT! Everything works Automatically! I get Sustained 565Mb/sec data transfers SSD to SSD. Hard Disks are just not fast enough and the data transfers will be sawtoothed 120Gb/sec to 500Gb/sec. This is a $100 solution to easily get 5Gb speeds. This will work PC to PC or PC to any NAS with 2x2.5Gb network ports. If you deal with 4K videos, this setup saves a huge amount of time moving files around. FYI: SMB Multichannel Only works within one switch, you cannot daisy-chain switches - so 9-ports are required for 4 clients.

Sodola wins, fixed the issue quickly!
My original had the power connector has become disconnected. Standard 12 v adapter which is not the issue. The issue lies in the power connection on the switch itself. It just snapped inside a weird one-off issue. I have had dozens of switches and hubs before that, but never had this issue. SODOLA came to the rescue and made this right, new switch works perfectly!

Works great!
What can I say, it's a switch. 2.5gbps works perfectly, I achieve full speed. The sfp port works great as intended. If all you need is an unmanaged switch for your home at this speed, I can defiantly say you won't be disappointed with this. It is cheap and works well. It seems sturdy and runs cool. Had it several months now and no issues.

Good unmanaged switches. SODOLA is usually the best value of the idential clones.
There are a bunch of good functionally identical 1xSFP+, 8x2.5GBase-T unmanaged switches our there. The SODOLA is usually the lest expensive by $5-$10. The SPF+ port seems to work with everything I've thrown at it: SODOLA 10G and 2.5GBase-T Cu transceivers, DAC cables, suplus Cisco MMF transceivers, etc.

Didn't last.
Bought 2, 1 started dropping 75% of packets after 3 years of very very light but continuous use, always had good airflow never in a confined space etc. The 2nd one is running on borrowed time. I have other brand switches that are 10+ years old that still work perfectly fine, only 3 years seems kind of lame. Also had 0.1% dropped packets during iperf udp packet testing from day 1, so I guess it was never truly up to the task. I'll give it an extra star because I did get some use out of it.

Awesome little switches 10g & 2.5g
Using 10g uplink on two of these switches, and several 2.5g PCs and 2.2g cable service. Both up and downstairs have full 2.2g cable inet, fed over 10g ports from router into sfp+ ports, then branching off to PCs, nas etc. Works great! Getting 2.5g on cat5e on existing house wiring. 10g with cat 6. Upgraded keystone jacks to cat6 everywhere.

Died after 15 months
I purchased the 8 Port 2.5G Ethernet Switch with 10G SFP in September 2023 and it worked great for 15 months or so and started dropping connections randomly and died. Worked great until then but not reliable enough for the long haul.

Excellent 2.5G switch but terrible mounting holes!!
Great product at a really great price. Seems really well made and does the job well. The only issue is that the mounting holes on the back are TINY and require such small screws I struggled to find some small enough and they're not included.

Funktioniert gut, Preis/Leistung passt
