HIGH QUALITY VR
As a disclaimer, I bought this PSVR2 on sale for 350$ and the rest of this review will be reflective of THIS price point. At 550$ My rating would drop by one star, but that is for another day. Comfort (4.5/5): So, I’ve only ever owned this VR headset and the Quest 2. I don’t know how it compares to other headsets, but I have always found it to be comfortable enough for a couple of hours without issue. I know that there’s a strap you can buy if you find that it slips during high movement games or depending on your head shape. Library(4.5/5): Taking into consideration the games coming out this year and the fact that this headset probably has at least two more years of content coming to it. I’m happy to say that most of you will be happy with the library! The only issue here is that it doesn’t have Half Life: Alyx. But, given the new PC adapter you find access to two PC (Steam)! Ease of use/installation(5/5): If you use this on PlayStation, there is like ZERO setup (aside from initial or compared to some PC headsets). I’ve personally never had issues with using it or connecting it. I have also never had the controller issues that some people have had, though *OCCASIONALLY (once or twice every dozen hours) I do get controller tracking hiccups from it. But ultimately it is very good and reliable. Graphics(5/5): Now, before anyone is a smart but, no it is not better than a 2-3 THOUSAND dollar setup. If you have money go buy something else. What I am telling you, is if you already bought a PS5/Pro for OTHER reasons then this 350$ price point is an AMAZING offer. The graphics look good and crisp thanks to foviated rendering. It also runs at a consistent 120 fps in the games that I have played it on, which is mainly Arizona Sunshine 1 & 2, GT7, Metro: Awakening, Beat Saber, and No Mans Sky! So I *personally get NO motion sickness. Price(5/5): At 350$, PSVR2 makes a fantastic purchase and a great headset. It’s only real competitor at this price point is Quest 3, which is great as well but for different audiences. However, if you are reading this after the sale the I would say WAIT! The headset is great but it is missing a Alyx sized game to justify 550$

Could have been perfect, controller issues
I am a PSVR user so PSVR2 is definitely a vast improvement specially on graphics. Although it has less padding, the design of the headset is great in terms of ergonomics and materials; the rubber is much better than the old peeling rubber of the PSVR. That being said, I will not give it 5 stars because of the well documented controller issue. Out of the box I noticed the right controller was not working properly. As many other users, I found that both controllers seemed to work fine in the PS5 menus but not in the game. I spent the first day troubleshooting and was frustrated thinking I would have to return the whole thing. The issue is well discussed on the Internet but the solution is not. The issue I had (I guess the most common) was apparently fixed using a workaround which consists in launching the games with a different controller and turning on the PSVR2 Sense controller once in the game. Still after finding this workaround, I was surprised to find that Sony has not to this day acknowledged this widespread issue, and also that this does not happen to some lucky users. I continued finding many suggestions on how to fix it but those all sounded unrelated to the root cause. Finally, I found that you can connect the controllers to your PC and use the Gamepad Tester website to see the values it is reporting. I found that my left controller had no issue and that the right controller was reporting a value like if I was pressing R2 very slightly (-0.83 instead of -1) even when it was fully depressed. It looks like this is a manufacturing issue when some “debris” prevent the trigger button (R2 in my case) to report -1 when fully depressed. You can check this in any search bar in the PS5 menu and notice that nothing happens when you press de trigger (caps lock if the issue is in the left controller or Done in the right controller). So when you start a game, the game detects that you are pressing the trigger even if you are not and this causes issues and weird behavior inside the game (each game is different). This is considered a hardware issue and that is the reason why Sony is not able to “patch” it. Some people contact Sony for a replacement or return the PSVR2 and they have the right to do it, but I first gave the “blow/flick” method a try since it is very easy to do and cause no harm to the controller. I pushed the trigger all the way and then using a compressed air blower, I used it in the small gap between the button and the controller. After that, I gave the trigger a couple of flicks (press and release) and measure the values again with the Gamepad tester website). To my surprise, the controller is now reporting -1. The “debris” inside were somehow removed and now I have a perfectly working controller. Just want to say that even if this worked for me, your issue could be different, so use the Gamepad Tester website and find yourself if it is your case too. I am glad I did not retuned the unit and that I can now enjoy the PSVR2. So bad that I spent the first hours with it troubleshooting instead of playing though…
