She doesn't really like it. My husband insists its because its too hard. For a dog that age with health complications, I wouldn't recommend it. **Q: is it gentle for my 2 months old teacup Maltese??** A: I would think it’s fine for the little darling. My gorgeous long-haired kitty does not like to be groomed but since she won’t do it herself -lazy thing!- I have to do it for her. This brush is so gentle she’s been very calm now when I brush her. And it does a very nice job detangling and removing the clumps. I really like it. **Q: will this work for rabbits?** A: I’ve not personally tried. However, I think it would work just fine. The bristles are short, and thin. Should be gentle enough. **Q: How is it for a short haired cat?** A: Not sure about a cat.
