Note: The UV copy that comes with this title has expired. The Autobots learn of a Cybertronian spacecraft hidden on the Moon, and race against the Decepticons to reach it and learn its secre ts, which could turn the tide in the Transformers' final battle. Review: worth it - good film worth watching. Review: Simply Amazing - Transformers: Dark Of The Moon has hands down the most realistic special effects i have ever seen. I for one hate all the fake looking, computer animated, blue screened crap that has been made over the years. Transformers: Dark Of The Moon is the exact oppisite of that in every way shape and form. Apart from the flawless Blu-Ray quality picture that blew my mind & enjoyed on my 46" 120hz Kogan TV, to have one of the rare films that are in 7.1 True HD which sounded absolutly amazing on my Sumsung Series 6 3D Surround Sound it is hands down the best 2D film i have watched so far. The film is non stop action and eye candy that trully proves they went all out with this film, a solid story with generally great acting and some laugh your arse of humor thrown into the mix, makes Transformers: Dark Of The Moon a must for any action packed, adventure, sci fi, comedy lover. This is a must have for any Blu-Ray collection a simply amazing film.

Lets get ready to rumble in Chicago
Better than the 2nd movie, still not as good as the 1st, the use of real military equipment and personnel really makes these Michael Bay collaborations a must watch for the military hardware enthusiast as the cinematography is a visual feast with every conventional technique used to the full as you would expect from a Ridley Scott prodigy. Blu-Ray 3D presentation was the cinema 2:35:1 aspect ratio has the black borders top and bottom, which is a big disappointment as they should have released the IMAX 1:44 or near 16:9 widescreen TV ratio full screen, ok so IMAX is 48 frames apposed to 24 frames that this Blu-ray's been encoded. Overall Picture and sound is top notch as this was filmed using proper Stereoscopic 3D Fusion cameras as per AVATAR not recent Immortals 3D using the post production hand drawn digital 3D. The Score by Steve Jablonsky who has done all the Transformers scores and is a prodigy of Hans Zimmer does a better job than the last, but the original film will still be his best with the use of a choir which gave the score a Gothic foreboding which this lacked. Hopefully an IMAX version will be released at a later date but I wouldn't get my hopes up as the original Transformer IMAX has never been released but most of the films are digitally shot then transferred to super 35mm print then duped into the 70mm IMAX film.

Action unbeatable
Who said that all shows are getting the same, Well this one is very different and a pleasure to watch as not knowing what is next, and with the cast doing a fantastic job, storyline just as good you wont find better. Sheer entertainment that you wont fall asleep until it's over. Suspense and thrills what else could you ask for. Now the story goes that cars change themselves into robots sounds to far fetched but the technology of to-day can do wonders. Now we have the good that fight to save us and the naughty robots wanting to take over earth. The action is fabulous exciting and full on that you won't move from your chair feeling involved throughout that you can't take your eyes of for a minute, only because you don't want to miss anything. I rated this an A grade plus for first class entertainment from beginning to end no time for other issues, so grab the movie and don't forget the popcorn put your feet up and try to relax to a wonderful night of suspense and action that will have you glued to the chair. Enjoy!

Amazing film, half hearted release
The Film:- The first Transformers film was a brilliant live action representation of the franchise which I grew up with and loved, sure it wasn't as good as the original transformers movie but it had huge explosions and robots kicking seven shades out of each other. Then we had Revenge of the Fallen, which although had really good action scenes dropped the ball, too much over the top comedy and the overly human aspect to the stories never sat right. This on the other hand has the balance about right in my opinion and some of the most amazing action scenes I've seen. We have lost the comedy side kicks (the twins) and robots with testicles, and of course Megan Fox. The first half does seem to drag a bit and could of been cut down to around 30 mins with no real loss to the 'story' however the last hour more than makes up for this as the full on Decepticon assault begins in Chicago. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley who replaced Fox is certainly a beautiful woman but to me feels a little out of her depth in a full out action movie like this. Patrick Dempsey also makes an appearance and does a good job of going against his seeming good guy typecasting. Shia LeBeouf again plays the bumbling idiot really well although it has started to wear thin by now and I think going forward a new type of human 'hero' would be a good move for the franchise. The soundtrack is brilliant and definitely suits the movie. Linkin Park provide the lead single for the film and don't go far wrong with the tone. A few emotional punches and twists make this a thoroughly enjoyable film, just turn of your brain and enjoy it for the popcorn movie that its meant to be. Blu-ray:- The transfer is flawless, definitely reference quality with perfect picture and sound throughout. I would really recommend this flim, and probably the other 2 transformer movies for showing off your hardware. It comes in the standard amaray casing with no slip cover. Extras:- There are none. Which is unusual for a Michael Bay film as he loves his extra material. However, the 3D version of this movie is due to be released early next year and it is rumoured to include a shed load of extras. To me this seems unfair on the consumer who has paid their hard earned cash on buying a vanilla release. A clever marketing ploy by Paramount means that they will have to double dip to get any extras as the studios continue to push 3D onto the public. Summary:- A 4 Star movie, stunningly transferred onto a reference quality Blu-ray let down by a vanilla release and therefore only allowing for a 3 star review.

Michael Bay's third installment of "Transformers" is worth every penny, even if all you want to do is show off your surround and high-definition setup, especially due to its astounding 7.1-channel Dolby TrueHD audio and relentless action scenes. To the story in a minute, but first, the sound is a big deal because few big pictures as of the end of 2011 are filmed in 7.1. The difference between 7.1 and the 5.1 that your ears are used to is mind blowing, assuming you have a 7.1 system. It fills all the corners of your listening space freakishly well, putting even the subtlest sounds in the corners of the room, behind the couch, under the couch. The movie gives you crystal clear stereo transitions and sounds that seem to snake around you, moving from one speaker to the next. Sounds are where they should be, and they can surprise you. Simply put, this is one of the richest sound experiences you can get in a movie, even without 7.1 I'd wager. Now, that story I promised. If you think "Dark of the Moon" is a rehashing of the same old stuff, you're not completely wrong. But the elements that made the first two movies work were pretty good. The Decepticons are back again with a plot to take over the world, and it's up to Sam and the Autobots to shut them down. Rounded characters and glimpses into the "Transformers" universe keep things interesting. Shia LaBeouf and the actors who portray his parents gel as well as ever, with Sam the ever-geeky comic with heart. And the guys won't be able to take their eyes off his girlfriend. Nearly every character has a motive and compels the story forward, and once it gets going, the action seems to never end. Bay takes us to the brink of Earth's destruction like never before. Perhaps there are only so many ways a robot can spin, dodge and attack another robot, but it never stops being fun to watch, especially with Bay's cinematic standards, with visuals so sharp and contrasty they almost hurt your eyes and animations that are still dumbfounding. You'll want to watch it again. In perspective, if this had been the first "Transformers," it would have been even more mind blowing. But if you can't walk away somehow enriched from some of the best visuals and audio on the planet, a compelling and fast-moving -- if not a bit complicated -- story, some of the most intense action ever, and the biggest-hearted robots in the universe, maybe movies aren't for you.
