I then painted on about 5 layers of black pond sealer. My pond has survived through the winter and I’m now in summer. I have had no cracking or leaks. The pond sealer is very smelly so recommend wearing a mask and wear disposable gloves. Can be expensive to buy and had trouble getting hold of the colour black. **Q: Can this sealant affect wildlife after the pond is re filled with water after sealing?** A: No when dry it's like a pond liner, I built a pond out of concrete and applied this.
